Why do people buy camera when they have cameras on their phone?

Why waste money on something when can save money and use your camera on your phone or video? Cameras are so out! My friend bought a cute camera from Amazon. I told her it’s cute but I she just wasted money and threw it away when she has a phone.

As for me I’m into photography & with all honesty although my phone has a camera on it all I can say is that it sucks & it’s limited to what you can do & the same goes for newer phones as well. As for me I have a Canon 80D with a 600mm lens just like the one in this photo & when it comes to wildlife photography a phone can take a picture but when you go to crop, edit & print the photo & have it put on a canvas or something like that your phone photos will look like shit.

My wife is a photographer. There is so much more that you can do with a high quality camera and lens. It's why professional photographers invested in Hasselblad cameras versus consumer quality Kodaks.
A good photographer can adjust the camera speed and aperture to capture just what they want, whether it be landscapes, close ups, portraits, or action in any kind of light.
Try to blow up a shot from a phone to a 16"x20" work of art.

Because phone cameras are terrible unless you have an expensive phone with a high quality camera. Phone cameras also don’t capture the same kind of “feel” as real cameras do.

My camera takes far better pictures than my phone does. I'll use the phone to take a setup shot but for real photos there's no comparison - and my best camera is still my Eos with film in it.

Reject the notion that instant gratification is somehow better.

Okay but you have the Google photos to save the photos for backup so you can make room for your phone. Save money that way

It's not about storage. I'm 53 - I understand photo albums - and once it's developed it can't be hacked and I have absolute proof in the negative if someone tries to steal it

It depends some digital professional quality SLR camera are miles ahead of the best phone cameras available. With a lens speed of F1.2 that let's in tons of light quickly for action shots and lots of elements in the lenses for top quality resolution.

They each have their place. Most phones will take good pictures with in a short distance. But if you want to do fancy things with your photos. A good camera is hard to beat. Especially at distances.
