Is it weird I think this way about gambling?

I do not buy lottery tickets anymore, because God gave me a brain and a set of skills, and I believe I can get that type of wealth, with my own efforts at money making alone. I also have connections who can give me financial advice, and protect or build my net worth once I cross those initial lines of financial success.

If you invest in stocks and shares your gambling.
If you go to uni your gambling it will pay off.
If you write a book your gambling it will sell.

The problem with gambling such as horse racing or online casinos is they encourage those who can't afford to lose to risk cash. A wealthy person having a £5 flutter is a far cry from a poor person blowing £5 out of foolish desperation.
