When you do laundry, do you use liquid detergent or pods?

Liquid detergent that doesn't contain any toxic chemicals like benzene, formaldehyde, nonylphenol ethoxylates (NPEs), phthalates (often hidden in "fragrance"), and sodium laureth sulfate (SLES).
We get ours on-line from a company called Melaleuca. We get several household products from them.

In the summer I use an old, literally antique, ringer washer and natural soap powder. In winter I just do it at my mom's and use liquid. 😊

Powder. That comes in a big box with a scoop. Its cheapest that way. I buy a big box of oxy clean powder also. Use both as needed... Also I dont like the new style washing machine. I like the old school top loaders.

@jazzy34 I bought a new LG front loader washer, and it has a 'drawer' to pull out for different things, soaps/bleach/softeners etc. I have used the 'pods' in the past with a top loader, and guess I will use both here with the new machine.

Pods, because they are quicker to toss in the wash and they dissolve fast. Plus my washer is HE and they have a good selection of pods for both hot and cold water at the store.

Pods are a little bit handier and a lot less messy. Most pods contain liquid detergent anyway, so it's just a way of packaging the liquid that makes it easier to handle. I appreciate the efficiency of this.

Liquid detergent, like Persil, seems to do a fine job. I haven't read where pods are more efficient in Consumer Reports, my product bible.
