Does anybody buy magazines anymore?

Does anybody buy magazines anymore? Like an actual magazine not a magazine downloaded on your phone, ipad or tablet.

My friend got me a magazine subscription to one of our favorite magazines and I just got the first issue. I honestly can't remember the last time I bought a magazine, I skim through them sometimes when I'm in line at the supermarket but never really buy any.

Sooooo how about you? Do you buy any magazines or does anybody actually buy any anymore?

I work at a newsagent and yes we still sell lots of magazines, but most who do are generally over 25 and mostly a lot older who are used to reading magazines when that was all there was when they were younger. I think it's a product on the decline. You can get any news now on the internet for free and have conversations about taboo topics on the internet anonymously.

I think it's a good and bad thing. Good that it's a change, things come and go right. Bad that reading something that's not on a digital screen is actually better for you because, you're more in touch with the words and you can feel it more, you lose a sense of reality or of physicality, you start to transition everything digitally and then you can lose your sense of the real world.

Those are just my thoughts :)

i have several subscriptions and buy others as I see them from time to time, I can't picture myself reading everything off my computer like that.

I still keep up subscriptions to a few magazines (I say just as I've stuffed away the latest issue of Cosmopolitan to be read later).

I like to be able to hold the magazine when I read it, not hold some chunk of technology. I'm the same about books.

I had a classmate in high school who pretty much popped a boner every time Apple came out with a new product, and I thought my sister was going to decapitate him one day when he said tablets were better than books.

My favorite comment by her: "Haven't you ever smelled a book!?"

Old books, when taken care of properly, smell so good...

I still buy Cosmo nearly every month. I should probably get an actual subscription, but I always forget until I'm standing in line a the store, and I see the magazine, and I'm like "Oh, I want it!"

I do. I love reading them a lot more than reading them online/on my phone. Its just more relaxing.

Yup, still do. I'll buy a U.S. Today or mechanics or top science mag if I see a story that piques my interest.
