Do you subscribe to any magazines? Which ones?

i remember when everyone got either Time or Newsweek. I used to have subscriptions to Popular Science, Popular Mechanics, Boys Life, Hot Rod, Pickup Van and 4 wheel drive, High Fidelity, PC magazine and this classic.

I do not subscribe to any of them anymore.

@OlderAndWiser reminded me that I do get magazines. I have degrees from 3 separate colleges and get alumni magazines from all 3 of them.

I think magazine subscriptions are more or less dead. A guy who went to my high school and was in my sister's class became the CEO of one of the most famous magazine publishers. He was also a patient of my father's. Fortunately for him he retired many years ago.

When I was a kid I had subscriptions to many of the magazines on your list. My cousin it is kind of like a brother was a mad magazine fanatic!

The internet age pretty much killed the magazine and newspaper business although you can still get both for many of the titles that existed back then. But more and more of them have stopped their print distribution and are Internet only now.

You can still buy a newspaper. I think last time I looked it was about $5, maybe that was the Sunday issue.

I get a few free magazines from various organizations including my alma mater, VFW, and a few others. But honestly I never even look at them except maybe to look at the where are they now section of my college magazine to see if I know anyone in there.

You're just getting started son. Wait till you hit 70. That's when the s*** really starts to hit the fan with losing people that you knew.

It really changes your whole outlook on life when you see that start happening. I've already lost so many but we're so important to me. It's one thing when it's the older generation but it's another thing when it's your own generation.

@RingOfFire My high school graduating class has a facebook page. There is a lost of people that are dead. I am amazed at how many there are and it is not all the druggies that are dead.

The best friend I ever had and grew up with died at 54. That was 16 years ago and I still miss him big time. Another of my best friends from childhood died about 2 years ago when my mother died.

Three out of the 4 girls I had serious long term relationships in my life died in the last year! I could not believe it. One of them died in her early 40s and the two others were my age. The only one who is still living is 12 years older than me!

Mom said she bought me a subscription to Mad for Christmas but it never showed up!! I stopped collecting when they became $3.00 per issue, NOT cheap by ANY means! I think they were about.50c per issue when I started collecting them back in `69 or `70 (the Barbra Streisand issue).

I used to subscribe to Maxim lol I never knew it was a men's magazine. I thought it was actually a good read and found a lot of the stuff funny. I later found out that Greg Gutfeld was an editor in the early 2000's.

Seeing that photo of the "MAD" magazine cover reminds me of reading those when I was a pre-teen. I used to get a kick out of that magazine.

Do I subscribe to any now? Yeah I get a some outdoors related magazines and health and fitness type of magazines.

MAD stopped publishing 6 years ago but once in a while I see it in CVS. I think that they are special editions with all old material.

In my late teens, I subscribed to Playboy Magazine and received it for many years.

At some point, I subscribed to National Geographic for many years.

In my late 20s, I became a life-time endowment member of the NRA and still receive the National Rifleman magazine.

In my 50s, I subscribed to The Hightower, Jim Hightower's liberal newsletter, for several years.

I'm sure I subscribed to other magazines here and there over the years, but that's all I can remember right now.

When I was quite a bit younger, I was friends with a kid down the street who was a couple years older than me. His dad had built a man cave in part of their garage. My friend climbed over the wall to explore and found his dad's collection of girly magazines.
So he invited me to come over and check it out. It was my first sight of unveiled boobies and curves. What an eye opener!
I had always thought girls were delightful, but suddenly I realized what they turned into and dreamed about being immersed in their softness.

Dozens!! My library has digital subscriptions to thousands of magazines and I have five different library cards from Seattle Boston New York Brooklyn and San Diego.

I pay for the economist, the Atlantic, New York Times, and Washington Post.

I would really like a WSJ, foreign affairs, Washington Times & Washington examiner subscription tho cuz they're all right leaning.

The bulwark is fantastic for AUTHENTIC (never trump) conservative views and news

The problem with the image of fraternities is that everyone who saw Animal House believes it is accurate. My fraternity had a 3.2 GPA, engaged in philanthropy projects, and taught me how to act like a gentleman.

Nah I think the only one I ever subscribed to was Spick it was a magazine for children to learn stuff. And later I read gamestar sometimes which was a magazine with game reviews but I read that in the library I didn't buy them.
