i would like to ask not anonymously but I couldn't...
have a nice day! :)
Some people confuse governments with their people. The Turkish government is well known for its heartlessness and violence, although it attempts to appear as a civilized government that cares for humanity and peace. The Armenian genocide, the attacks against the Kurdish people, and the support of the Islamic terrorism in Syria are some of the examples that make people hate Turkey as a government.
The situation isn't really different when it comes to the United States. I have been to places outside the US and I was received with so much hatred, due to my governments Imperialism. However, I had no hand, nor decision in my government's foolish actions in Iraq, Afghanistan or Libya.
You should not defend your governments brutality, sweetheart. People like Hitler, Ataturk and Bush must not be respected at all. They brought nothing to this world but shame, greed and bloodshed.
Anyways, don't let those hateful morons affect you. You sound like a very sweet girl who loves her country, so instead of asking why people hate Turks, you should prove those people wrong with your behavior and actions.
Keep well. :)
if atat?rk didn't exist I would probaby wear burka can't speak just because I am a woman so please don't be so rude I am free just because of atat?rk I won't judge you its not my business. but I love atat?rk more than my mother my father and myself and I'm so proud of it. I am not a very sweet girl but I love my country and I don't know yours but even I don't like your country I respect. and I respect you even we share different ideas have a nice day! :)
Your comparison between Atatürk Bush and Hitler is meaningless. Bush was the stupid man in a clever system and system didn't let him to ruin the country, Hitler was an absolute fascist dictator who killed millions of people and got away with it with suicide. On the other hand, Ataturk founded a country which was almost annexed by Europe and us. He gave life to a whole new nation, supporting gender equality, westernization and many other good things. Other two, they just kept killing people. I know today's president sucks but you have no words to say about Atatürk.
Nothing wrong with Turks.
Then you can change the title to, Why does nobody care about Turks?
I will say I love the Turks.
And you can change the question again to, Why everyone loves Turks?
Yes I do.
this so thoughful thank you! I don't know your nationality and its no matter I love you!
I wonder that too. Racism is really stupid. When I was in London, I loved English people. They are kind, genial and helpful. But I was a tourist and nobody knew that I'm Turk. I had just some minor problems in my hotel because of that.
I see Brits' hate on internet. You can not label a whole nation as killers or idiots, it's really absurd.
Greek people don't 'hate Turks...yes there is tension between them sometimes as portrayed in the media, because of their history..but young people are openminded + really educated...I am Greek + I love Turkey my whole life, same goes for my parents...+ have lots of friends from Turkey.
Thank you, my neighbor :)

I don't hate Turks, I love em!
I'm big on Germany, studied abroad there, was born there, and I feel like its impossible to love everything about Germany today without liking Turkey.
I mean, yalls food is DELICIOUS! Those Doner? So good...
I also appreciate a Muslim country realizing that having an Islam based government is an awful idea. Turkey has had a secular government for, what, 80 years now? I would feel so much safer going there than to any other place in the middle east.
Good luck on getting into the EU, I'm rooting for yall.
thank you <3
m what's karlama? you mean kar lama or something else?
oh okey I understand :D
oh so welcome means hosgeldin :)
yes I agree :D my uncle lives in northern cyprus and he is never been in cyprus because its forbidden. and the world don't accept northern cyprus so this problem will continue ... I wish we could live happy!
well EU don't want us I think the main reason is our religion
Yea, that's what a lot of people think, but there is also the geological debate, because if you let in Turkey, then Technically that would allow Russia to join too, since its about as much in Europe as Turkey is. Also, Turkey is a lot of Agriculture, and there is already an imbalance of agriculture over industry, and the EU is having a tough enough time as it is financially. So there are valid reasons besides religion, I sincerely hope its not religion based.
jerry17, if your profile is correct and you are from the UK, then I don't see what your beef is. The UK since day one has had a vicious opportunistic view of the EU, only investing in the parts that directly benefit you (such as the free trade) but refusing to pitch in the work to make the EU great (like backing the one currency.) Even if Turkey did join, how ever unlikely it might seem, I am sure your selfish country would find a way to make sure that it meant no extra work for you at all.
3 nationalities hate them especially:
Austrians - because of Ottoman attempt to siege Vienna
Greeks - because of the conflict in Cyprus
Armenians - because of the genocide
Poles also assisted Austrians during the battle of Vienna and their aid was essential for the victory of the battle so they may also not be fond of them, not mentioning the fact that many poles are hardcore Christians.
Germans may also not be too fond of them today because of many Turkish immigrants there, and rumours say that not everyone of them there behaves good and with proper respect to the new country they live in.
I don't think that anyone else may have some problem with them. I personally don't know anyone of Turkish descent so I haven't got any particular impression about them, thus I don't have personal opinion about them.
i literaly have never seen anybody being bothered for being a "turk"
Where I come from, a "turk" is a black doctors on scrubs or his Latino wife.
That being said, everybody has things they are made fun of for. are find it hard to live with. but that's just what you have to do, live with it.
I don't date Turks, and have a few Turkish friends. I can't stand that some of the Turks try to downplay the Armenian genocide like it didn't happen, but other than those types, I have no widespread animosity towards Turkish people. I also think it is good that the Turkish people are standing up towards some of the insults that Israel has thrown its way recently. Turkey has a very interesting history as a country.
I don't know anyone that does?
Well I listen to System of a Down and a lot of their material relates to the Armenian Genocide...what's the story behind that?
woow I would like to explain but unfortunately my English sucks
yes and in high school they teach us german or french to :)
*too
did I write wrong?
oh sorry :/
oo I don't know . now I'm in 10. class and its 11.class theme.
A government teaching its students about a genocide they committed ... sounds very educative!
Long story.
When Armenians were living on the east of Ottoman (Currently Turkey, Kars) they were killing innocent Turkish people. Some of Armenians were dying too. So Ottoman Goverment decided to take them to a safer zone. (Current Turkey , Gaziantep) Because of the challenging weather (Snowstorms etc.) A huge amount of them died. Now Armenians say that TURKS killed them but there is no such thing like that. They want us to accept the genocide so they can get Kars and some of the other northeast part of Turkey. They walked, They didn't care about the weather, They died. -As much as I know-
I don't hate the Turkish people, but I have to say I'm not happy that the Turkish government still denies the Armenian holocaust.
To me, that's like the German neo-nazi's who deny the Jewish holocaust.
i wonder if you have known anything about the persecution to Turks by Armenians..but there is no evidence of the other..the "holocaust" you've said.
And Jewish holocaust was quite different. It was real. Don't mix them.
No amount persecution justifies attempted genocide.
And if the Turks were really sure their atrocities were jusitfied by Armenian oppression, then the solution would be to publicise that oppression, not to go into a MASSIVE historical rewrite campaign, to deny the Armenian holocaust ever happened.
About the turks, I'd say thanks for Turkish Delight.
Firstly that is out of question, The Turks are not a hated nation. I don't know what made u ask that but you shouldn't be obsessive. I advise you to just read the history. Then be sure that u will realize how The Turks are respectful and respected as well.
I don't hate Turks. I've known many, have some as friends, find them kind, decent people.
idk anything about them so I have no reason to feel anything for them(bad or good)
I don't know Turks so can't hate them. The owners of this website are Turks ...
really? :)
Yes London princess is a turk
I don't hate them. Never met anyone who does.
