Do you hide your feelings from someone you really like? Reason I'm saying this is because this girl comes back on and off and says that we where nothing more than friends but I know that's a lie because she admitted to linking me and of course I can tell.

Not unless he has a girlfriend. If I like a guy, I'll flirt with him but make it clear that I don't expect anything in return. That way, he still feels comfortable around me as he decides if it's something he'd be interested in pursuing. But I won't hide my feelings if we're both single and we see each other fairly often.

However, many girls hide their feelings because they're scared of getting hurt. If they think the guy is out of their league, could never look at them as more than friends, or might be interested in someone else, they'll keep their feelings a secret. So your girl friend could be acting hot and cold with you because she believes one of these scenarios. Or maybe you unknowingly did something to hurt/offend her, which is why she's now denying her feelings for you. Another possibility is that she recently discovered she has feelings for someone else and is trying to forget about you or that she has a boyfriend.

I act friendly and outgoing with all my friends, but I will hide any deeper feelings.

I don't like openly showing those feelings, somehow I feel like I'm giving people a way to hurt me.

If I like someone, I will not stay passive though. It would be pointless to hide those feelings but hope he would ask me out anyway.

I like to think it is close to impossible to "guess" my feelings by looking at my actions, unless I am actively trying to ask him out.

It's different with everyone, so guessing if there is any deeper feeling is a tricky thing :/

It all depends on the girl. Everyone is different, and some don't mind just bluntly saying it. I personally keep it hidden. I even avoid the guy sometimes just so I don't come off as annoying. If you can tell and she's admitted it, you have to make the move. I'm not saying to ambush her by asking her out, but by simply getting her number and talking to her.

I hide my feelings 99% of the time, it saves hassles and rejection, but the odd thing is they say they can read a guy but if they could they would know I am lying about how I truly feel, my oldest female friend of 30 years still has no idea how I feel , she would be so surprised about how I feel about her but to keep the friendship I keep quiet, so it seems a lot of us experience the same thing, glad to know I am not alone.

Come to think of it, I really hide my feelings and try to act cool, especially when I first meet someone I like. I even try to act like I am not interested at all. I know it's shallow in a way but it sometimes work

I always do, unless the person admits they like me as well. It's not the rejection part I am scared of, it's the after rejection part. The awkwardness and everything. There is someone I want to tell right now because sometimes I think he likes me back, but it's hard to tell.

I almost always do. I feel like if you're treating a woman as anything other than a co-worker, she'll probably find it awkward or offensive. So I just say "screw it" and just show nothing unless she shows interest first.
