My girlfriend is a Astrology nut, she just believes every word of it and apparently i match my zodiac exaxtly (Leo) and it kinda pisses me off because i don't believe that just because i was born a "Leo" that im gonna match the entire description

I beleive in the ability for people to Identify with vague statements. Good "Astrologist" make their columns vague enough that a large majority of people will be able to identify to it but pointed enough that its not obvious. for example:

"The star signs indicate your boss will give you a twenty dollar bonus today."

Well that is vary specific not many people will be able to identify with that kind of statement if any That will lead to few reader, less popularity and more than likely a lost job.

"The star signs indicate that your day at work will be blessed with an unexcpeted surprise"

Her is your vague statement. Many people will be able to Identify with it. I mean an unexpected surprise and range from a bonus to seeing a coworker you haven't seen in a while.

"Something will happen at work today"

Well now can you get much more vague than that? Hell something happens every minute of every day.

See those who believe in astrology are people who can identify well with what people say. They dont understand the power a vague statement can have over people. They think everything is directed at them when if they step back and think about it the will realize that they aren't right, they are just vague enough that you can read anything into it.

As for me I am a Cancer (Crab, Parasite, Deformity) I have read horoscopes for all signs and can point out how I can fit into all of them. I have traits from a majority of the signs. Its not the sign you were born under that makes who you are its you who adapt yourself to the words written by others to give yourself an identity.

Astrology is just a set of words linked to you based on your birth date. Basically it is not unlikely at all that it will at least partially match, considering behavior is fairly fluid.

I gotta do more research on it to really be able to accurately talk about this, but I heard the reason it makes sense for a lot of people is actually that the chemical balances in our brains are different every month before we're born, and depending on the month your born, that's the personality type you're more likely to get.

It of course has absolutely nothing to do with the stars. The moon, yes, it does actually have notable effects on the human brain, but not the stars.

I, however, fit pretty well into my sign's description, which is Scorpio, the sex god.

I believe certain aspects of astrology have merit. I know that I've personally always identified with most of the traits associated with my sign and people close to me seem to fit most of the traits for their signs too. I think horoscopes are complete bullshit but I do believe in the personalty trait aspect of astrology. I don't think you can analyze the stars and planets to predict the future but I think that the positions of the celestial bodies and weather at our birth could influence our personalities.

We already know through psychology that our earliest years are the most influential to our development. We also know that the gravitational pull from the moon, electromagnetic fields, and the weather can influence our thoughts & behavior. So it doesn't seem to unreasonable that the state of these things at the time of our birth could have a pretty big influence on our personality. No tbh I think it's stupid. All horoscopes are generalized so that it fits most people and mainly people want to believe it. I try not to govern my life by superstition, because then you just end up living in a false reality.

My zodiac is pisces and the description is reasonably accurate but not as accurate as numerology.
My numberology number is a 6 and a big part of that description was spot on.

I don't really believe in both of them but it can be surpricing how accurate things can be.
Of course the moment these things change from general description to predicting the future everything falls apart.

The concept of Astrology is to show you all of your flaws that you attained at birth. When reading the description, you might find some common ground or it might be completely off base with who you are right now. The purpose is to overcome these flaws which is why some people might think its all bullshit, because they've conquered their short comings. It's very nature and nurture. Through obstacles and experiencing success, we grow and learn.
