What are some bands from other countries besides the U.S.?

I here in the U.S. and I love to listen to bands from different countries. What are some bands that are popular in your country, but not in America? I particularly like British bands, but I'm open to any suggestions.

Germany: Wir Sind Helden <<I love these guys.. Gekkomen Um Zu Bleiben is a great song.

I love "Eu Sei Que Vou Te Amar" ("I know I will always love you") by Vinicius De Moraes (with Maria Creuza and Toquinho) It's an older song but very pretty and soft.. romantic.

Well, I live in the U.S., but I listen to a lot of Japanese bands and solo artists. Dir en Grey, AnCafe, The Gazette, and L'Arc~en~Ciel are some of my favorite bands. As far as solo artists go, I like Miyavi, Ayumi Hamasaki, and Kanon Wakeshima. :)

I love On/Off they are a japanese band. I only listen to american and japanese so that's about all I have to offer outside of the us of something mainstream that you might like. these are my favorite songs by them
