does anyone else think they're ugly?
What's the big deal with thigh gaps?
does anyone else think they're ugly?
Back in 1987, my physics friends and I (and we were a collection of both men and women), would sit in a public area in our college and we'd often discuss this, but we didn't call it "thigh gap", but "crotch gap". We even had a named metric for it, "Delta CG" which was the square root of the distance between the left and right thighs left in their natural state. So, if there was a thigh gap, the Delta CG was positive, but if her thighs rubbed together, she'd have an imaginary crotch gap. One of our friends, Lisa, who was a physics major and in on this had a fantastic Delta CG because was reasonable tall, had wide set hips, and was rather thin,
Delta CG is something good to know and care about because, Delta CG decreases with age. If you are a guy and you see a woman with a small positive or significantly imaginary Delta CG, you knew it was likely to get worse after marriage and some kids.
Psychologically, Delta CG is key because it is inviting - easier access to the vagina than having to push all that thigh out of the way. Personally, I'm not too hung up on it.
lol?
Some women have them even when carrying a fair bit of fat. You need to be reasonably thin and need wide set hips.
The thigh gap itself is pretty irrelevant. Some women would be overweight without one and some women would be emaciated with one.
It's not something reasonable to target.
They can look good and on some people they don't. It depends on the person really. But it's bone structure, some people naturally have them, a couple of my friends do but they don't even workout or anything. They're just naturally very thin.
If someone doesn't have them. Cool.
If someone has them. Cool.

cool
You don't seem cool with it. What's it to you?
its just an ignorant thing to me. women stress and obsess with trying to get one and i just dont see why.
I don't see how the thigh gap in itself is "ignorant", but I do agree that the obsession for it is ignorant. We shouldn't blame or vilify the girls who naturally do have them though, it's not their fault.
i wasn't saying the thigh gap was ignorant. the obsession is.
But you're bashing the thigh gap in this question. And in your comments. You repeated many times how "ugly" they are. I don't know if you think they are ignorant, but you are bashing thigh gaps. And women who were otherwise confident with them will see this and feel bad about their bodies, and thigh gaps depend almost completely on bone structure, not weight, so it's something they cannot change unless they get some seriously damaging bone surgeries. Is that what you want?
I understand that the unhealthy obsession with it did go out of hand for a while, but the solution IS NOT to attack thigh gaps or women who naturally have them.
I hope in time you'll learn that you can't fight discrimination with more discrimination. You can't fight hate with hate.
every one has insecurities. if they get upset then okay. they'll be okay. bc everyone talks about someone. :) i ain't worried about nothin
I understand about everyone having insecurities. But you're feeding onto them. What's worse, in a guise of "helping" or "concern" of the sick obsession of thigh gaps. You aren't attacking the obsession, you're attacking the thigh gaps in itself. Which will feed onto insecurities that these naturally slender women may have.
It's not healthy to create more insecurities either.
Some people naturally have them, like me for example, I am 5'11!! Why are you hating on thigh gaps? Who cares if someone has one or not. Being rude about thigh gaps and calling them ugly is the same as calling "non thigh gaps" ugly. People can't help what they are naturally meant to look like.
I agree :)
I naturally have them as well o:
i'm not hating on them. i just find them unattractive and would like to know why they are such a big deal to have now. i realize some people have them naturally and can't help it. i know about bone structure. & what does your height have to do with anything.
Sometimes when you are tall you have really long legs and are thinner than the average person so your legs naturally have a bit of a gap. Not try to argue, I just think we should all stop judging people by how they look. Who cares if there is a gap between someones legs. It is so unimportant.
It's fine to not understand the hype, but what's the point in going out of your way to call them ugly/unattractive? Lots of people can't help the fact that they're thin and have thigh gaps. No need to be so rude. Just makes you sound jealous.
if you would read the comments i've stated like three times that i understand some people can't help it and that its their bone structure. & i'm not jealous of any female really. soo.
Doesn't matter. You still went out of your way to call them ugly/unattractive, despite knowing that a lot of people can't help it. That's pretty shitty. What if I told you that having no thigh gap is ugly? That big/fat thighs are unattractive? I doubt it would feel good. Treat others how you wish to be treated. If you call someone/something ugly, then don't expect people to not call you ugly back.
i honestly would not care if you said bigger legs are unattractive. it wouldn't affect me one bit.
This ^^^^ +1
not butthurt😂😂😂
mkay 👍👌😂 bc you clearly know what you're talking about. 😂😂 *sarcasm intended* lmao.
why would i need to defend myself when your irrelevant to me and i'm not fucked up about what you say? hmm.
not pretending hun, this is real. i'm totally not affected by you or your words. :)

I couldn't care less about thigh gaps. It's a trend started by anorexic teenage girls.
and I'm neither anorexic nor a teenage girl, so IDGAF about thigh gaps.
true. 😂
I thought it was started by victorias secret.. ?
@thewanderingme: I don't know an don't care where it started. All it does is promote anorexia.
it really does promote anorexia
because some females who don't have thigh gaps strive to get them so they lose weight to fit into this fucked up world of ours where thigh gaps are mandatory to look good. supposedly.
I don't understand how a woman who is natural thin, like a lot of my friends are, and eat more than anyone, which they do, could "promote" anorexia with just their natural build?
thats not what i'm saying. i realize that some people can't help it. but some females feel like they have to have it so they do things to try and get it. my sister for example is fairly thin but she still doesn't have a thigh gap. she looks at other girls and she thinks thats how she has to look or she's not good enough. she starves herself to get a thigh gap. that is what i'm saying.
@lumos @BuchitaBuchys calm down you girls. Geez, so overly sensitive. We never said that naturally thigh-gapped women promote anorexia. What the QA and I meant when we said promote anorexia was that there are so many girls who are already skinny enough yet still not have thigh gaps still starve themselves and strive to get thigh gaps. So this obsession over thigh gaps is what promotes anorexia. Not you, naturally thigh-gapped people.
exactly. if they would thoroughly read comments they would understand.
No. It's not. Vilifying thigh gaps themselves is not the solution. You guys seem to be attacking thigh gaps, not the obsession over them. I agree that women shouldn't obsess over them, but the solution is NOT to attack thigh gaps or naturally thin women who have them. You wanna make some girls feel better but make others feel worse? How the fuck does that help anyone? Get your shit straight.
And FYI. I don't have a thigh gap. AT ALL. I am naturally pear shaped and all my weight goes to my lower half. So I have very thick thighs. I probably won't have a thigh gap either even if I were to loose a vast amount of weight. Thigh gap or no thigh gap, I like my legs. And thigh gap or no thigh gap, I want other women to like their legs as well.
Putting one woman down to elevate another is a cheap tactic and helps no one.
okay
@BuchitaBuchys: whatever you say. I know that I, personally, am NOT attacking the thigh gaps themselves nor the girls who have them naturally. I just didn't think of girls who naturally have them when I read this question. But yes, my answer was attacking the obsession over it. Like I said, I personally don't care about thigh gaps. I don't think they're sightly or unsightly. They just are. I don't care either way. But the obsession that so many teenage girls have, and how it's become a trend, THAT's promoting anorexia. Get what I mean? Will you stop attacking me now?
You think you're not, but you are. And that's the problem with a lot of these "Body Positive" or "Fat Acceptance" campaigns. They think it's justified to trash talk all models, all women with thigh gaps, thigh gaps themselves, etc. instead of the actual obsession or idolization of them. It backfires and causes more tension and "us vs them" mentality. I don't like the obsession over it either, but that doesn't make the thigh gap in itself a bad or unhealthy thing.
Your intentions are fine but delivery is not.
Geez, I'm getting tired of this.
I meant nothing bad but still get shit from you, just you. Drop it, please. Go harrass someone else who actually talked shit about your gapped thighs. I didn't. So bye.
this whole topic has been over with. quit commenting.
I have a thigh gap naturally because that's simply the way my body is built. No, I don't think it's "ugly," but I also don't understand why some girls put so much emphasis on getting one. It's simply not a big deal either way and most guys don't even notice it or care that much.
Getting a gap between my ears reading all these thigh gap questions. Like seriously, who cares? If you've got space between your legs that's fine, just as not having it is fine. What is ugly is shaming people for how their bodies are built.
Thisss
Thiss :) is a great opinion. I couldn't agree more. Especially the last sentence (is epic and so true)
I've got one but I'm not anorexic o: I am a teenager girl, though, and Im indifferent (^・ω・^ )
I'm only annoyed this craze (or whatever you want to call it) exist. women (and men) look good both ways as long as they're not complete bones and obese.
*or obese
the thing is, most people consider thigh gaps "sexy" & what it takes to make a "perfect" female, and if you dont have one then you're not "sexy" or "perfect", when thigh gaps honestly aren't even that attractive. i realize that its bone structure and those who have it can't help it. I don't know.. that's just how i feel about it.
everyone has tgeir own ideal for themselves and for the person they want. as long as your happy with yourself, who cares.
I just think this whole thing where some girls feel the need to bash on others for the way they naturally look or strive to look is much sadder. and either a sign of jealousy or insecurity with something else about yourself. stop deflecting.
totally not jealous of any female alive. and i'm happy with my body. the whole obsession of having a thigh gap is completely irrelevant & it makes those who's thighs are bigger and touch feel like they aren't good enough.
well, those people should work on their self confidence instead of hating those who look different.
I have one naturally maybe cz I am super skinny bt I never get why they are considered so hot by either sex!!
I prefer normal looks but they're fine, they're a standard set by women for women, most of us men don't really care.
I think its a stupid obsession.
they're not attractive really.
They aren't ugly. You're just jealous that your thigh flab touches and has no air.
i actually have a little thigh gap so your comment is extra redundant. 😚😂✌️
Suuuuuuuure. Says the girl who found them 'ugly'
they are ugly. lol. just because i have a small one doesn't mean i can't find them ugly. lmao. duh.
So what exactly are you trying to achieve by asking this question?
i'm not trying to acheive anything. i just want to see people's opinions on them. and i just want to see who all thinks they're ugly. :)
I dont pay notice to anyone gap so i am surprised that it is in trend.
a thigh is a thigh to me
No I dont find them ugly
Dependson the person. Some women have natural ones.
i think they are just a physical feature indicating that a person is slender. the hype about it is kind of an internet meme but i don´t think it´s that important in reality.
I like the way they look but I normally prefer curvy women.
Eh I wouldn't say they're ugly, but I don't like them either.
I don't know about other guys, but I personally find thigh gaps highly unappealing. I like it when thighs touch.
Well I use to have a thigh gap but as soon as I got to highschool I started getting bigger thighs , and now I run track, and my thighs touch each other when I run so in some aspects its good to have a thigh gap because they won't rub together
They're definitely not necessary, but I like them. An added bonus, I guess.
I find it ugly when it is extreme.
It doepends on the person
im indifferent about them.
