For those who have read the bible and certain parts, what does the bible sy about this?
What does the bible say about gays, bisexuals, pansexuals, ect?
For those who have read the bible and certain parts, what does the bible sy about this?
I can't say anything about blocking, but this isn't the Middle Ages, admins won't do anything for someone going against a religion even if you report me. You're the reason why people disrespect teens and assume we can't consent. Get yourself together.
''Homosexuality'' as an identity wasn't invented until late 1800's. Back then, there was sodomy, the act of a male having anal or oral sex with another male. The first country to legalize sodomy was France after the French Revolution. They didn't really think about people of same-sex actually falling in love, or even female same-sex relationships. Pansexuality is a term invented after non-binary gender identities became known, it's not in the Bible or any part of history. People never identified as bisexuals either, but I'm pretty sure many had it going on with both genders.
To cut it short and answer your question, the Bible says it's a sin:
Lev. 18:22, "You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination."
Lev. 20:13, "If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death. Their bloodguiltness is upon them."
1 Cor. 6:9-10, "Or do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, shall inherit the kingdom of God."
Rom. 1:26-28, "For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error. And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper."
In Corinthians 6:9-10, it says homosexuals. I think it was later changed from a description or another word like ''sodomite''.
Thanks for the information. And I do not tolerate profanity and negative comments at all. It's only a simple question that needs a simple answer. I'd only block people if someone were to bash or say negative things about my beliefs and religion. So far people of GAG are providing fantastic information. Thank you again for the info! :)
You're welcome š
Haven't read it but this 25 list thing talks about that part. Along with other things in it that is very interesting. I know it's 9 minutes long so I don't expect anyone to really watch it.
np :)
"If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death. Their bloodguiltiness is upon them." I don't really believe that though...
That's scary and I've never heard that before, but I guess it could be true. I've heard so many times that it's just another sin like any other one. I do know that God looks at about every sin the same. So I'm wondering if I belive and follow God and try hard to be a Christian and also ask for forgiveness will I get a chance at Heaven.
The Bible has NOTHING BAD to say about LGBTQ people or their relationships. It is in fact extremely positive abou them. Please see my profile for my credentials to make this statement. Ladies first. There are no passages anywhere in the Old Testament against Lesbian sex of any kind. Quite the opposite. The Book of Ruth could well be classified as an erotic lesbian romance. Naomi was Ruth's mother-in-law and the two clearly loved each other deeply. Eventually Ruth becomes one of King David's direct ancestors, and Jesus was born into the House of David. So Jesus' earliest known female ancestor was both bisexual and a gentile. Clergy will tell you that it was a 'platonic' relationship. Rubbish. It is what it seems to be, and how could a Platonic declaration of love be used as a husband/wife lovesong at het couples' retreats? See Ruth 1:16-17.
Another objection is that there is no documentation that there were any lesbians in biblical times. In totally patriarchal cultures you expect writing about 'mere' women's business? 😏 The closest we have to the truth is the Symposium by Plato, the story about love told by Aristophanes. It is laugh out loud funny, and very clearly says lesbian and gay relationships were very common indeed, probably outnumbering straight couples about 2:1.
Finally we know that Jewish thinking is against same-sex relationships. I haven't looked into this to see what the reasoning is. Possibly the conviction that the Almighty needs our help. Almost blasphemy that is, but one shared by Muslims and Christians. See God promised Abraham descendents more numerous than the stars in the heavens and the sands on the sea shore. So whatever got in the way of babies, babies, and more babies would be obstructing the will of God.

GAY GUYS
A few examples of MM love, oddly enough one was King David's affair with Jonathan, one of Saul's sons. Then from the New Testament, there's the Centurion and his servant. Ask yourself why an arrogant Roman officer humble himself before a despised Jew for the sake of a sick slave he could probably replace for a half day's pay? Then there's the Ethiopian eunich, also NT, and at least one more from the OT, but I forget the details. Then there was Joseph, who refused to be seduced by an Egyptian cougar. And that camp cloak he used to wear? Puh-leeze!
Sodom? Well, read the story! It was not nuked because of gay sex, but for poor hospitality to strangers like gang rape
St Paul wrong about most things, too different from Jesus, no right to make new Law, so just parroted earlier thinkers.
Leviticus: READ. How does a guy do a guy like he would a gal? That little hole down there? No gay sex or advice on hygiene? I know which makes more sense to me!
I am trying my hard to not be mean-spirited but saying "DO NOT POST RUDE COMMENTS AGAINST MY RELIGION (CHRISTIANITY) IF SO THEN YOU WILL BE REPORTED AND BLOCKED" paints a hard to resist target on your back.

ATOMIC PRO TIP: Best not to say "DO NOT POST RUDE COMMENTS AGAINST MY ________ IF SO THEN YOU WILL BE REPORTED AND BLOCKED" or anything like it.

I personally think that you should accept people for who they are. Things changed a lot since back then. It's also hard to say what it said because it has been translate hundreds of times and we all know that eveyr time it's translated it's changed abit.
The Bible only means Homosexual. Bisexuals were never mentioned and pansexuals are actually bisexuals afraid to admit they're bisexual. It basically says it's a sin.
And if you're not limited to sexual choice with biological sex or gender, you are a bisexual. Why are they afraid to admit it? Pansexuals are just teenagers afraid to admit they're bisexual.
Pansexual and bisexual are related, but different. Bisexual has a sexual interest in two genders. Hence the "BI" part. This usually is interpreted to mean male and female. But there are people outside of binary gender, some gender fluid or genderqueer people fall outside of the binary, as do certain third gender groups outside of Western European traditions. So pansexual applies to people who are ok being attracted to any gender, not just 'two'. Most bisexuals would actually be pansexual, but the edge cases are so rare that they don't encounter any so it never comes up. But they are technically two distinct things.
There are ONLY two genders. If a person is a transgender, they still changed genders. Quit denying scientific facts.
@Asker True. And the people born with male and female genitalia are forced to have surgery and the doctor declares which gender they are. I don't mind people who say they're pansexual but I just feel these people are afraid to admit they're bisexual because that word has a stigma for some reason.
I think Betty Bowers, America's Best Christian, can explain it best:
I'm not a Christian but I have read the bible before. This link shows what the bible says about homosexuality https://carm.org/bible-homosexuality
The people has more explicit rules on what you should eat than about sexual habits. For some reasons, Christians don't follow those rules though.
Actually all the people in the bible I know did this ended up distroyed or punished by the Lord.
Yes that was why Sodom and Gomorah was destroyed.
The god punished the people of Sodom for homosexuality they committed, bible says.
It says a man shall not lay with a man and a woman shall not lay with a woman.
its no good, they can't enter to kingdom of god!
they r against it actually
Pansexual that's new? Is it to do with pancakes?
I think in the Bible it's a sin.
