It doesn’t say it’s bad to be gay in the bible. It does say it’s bad to be a pedophile, but during a lavender scare in the 1940’s American translators of the English bible changed the word that meant pedophile to read “homosexual” and that’s where a lot of it comes from. If one looks at the original language of the bible, they’ll see God happily punished pedophiles and rapists in the Old Testament because even over 2000 years ago it was understood how shitty of a thing that was.


And Jesus actually likes the gays. Ignoring English translations and focusing on the oldest translations of the new testament, look specifically to Luke 7:1-10. When a centurion came to him asking for Jesus to heal his servant, the original greek word used was specifically a term for sexual services, and the servant was a man same as the centurion. Jesus healed him and blessed them both with a very positive speech to the crowd that was watching too. You won’t see it depicted like this in the English versions because of how much that homophobia still permeates modern western christianity.

The verbiage doesn’t shame the state of being, it shames behavior.
This is definitely one thing on which many conservatives could improve. When the Bible was written, life was hard. Societies literally died out because people weren’t making enough babies. It was a core societal value to have many children and raise them to be useful to the community. So much so that sodomy was outlawed. For the cheap seats, sodomy is any sexual behavior that doesn’t result in reproduction or is solely for the pleasure of the sex itself.
Well, we don’t have that problem anymore. We have lots of people and we live much longer on average than the struggling chaps who wrote the book. Even many good Christians enjoy sodomy now. As they should! And since that is literally the only meaningful reason for the guidelines in the bible. A more relaxed understanding of homosexuality would benefit the strictest of conservatives a great deal. Especially where their political concerns lie. More allies means more votes, which means more power. And a lot of Christian conservatives might be thoroughly surprised at how many homosexuals appreciate conservative sociopolitical views. I lived with two born & raised California lesbians IN California and they were both more conservative than me on most issues. Both voted for Drumpf, twice. I didn’t. Ell oh ell!

Yes it is and it appears in the Bible thoroughly is as follows:
Leviticus 18:22: You shall not lie with a man as with a woman; it is an abomination.

Romans 1:26: That is why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other.

1 Corinthians 6:9:
Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor males who have sex with males (...)

The bible recommends traditional gender identities but it says celibacy is acceptable for those that do not feel comfortable with tradition. In the bible God healed disobedient people before they repented but after they sought him, so God does not withhold love from people, simply because they fail the biblical ideal.

There is mention of sexual immorality all over the Bible, there are examples set with Sodom, decrees and laws are given to Israel, you are told not to have sex outside marriage, and marriage is defined as between a man and a woman in the Bible. The Bible is loaded with information that tells you not to have gay sex, not to do incest, not to be involved in bestiality, not to be a pedophile, and so on. I don't know why people want to keep playing these games... Go read Leviticus 18... there's a lot of different parts of the bible that directly condemn gay sex and use strong words against homosexual relationship. but if you wanna be pedantic, i'm not aware of any passage that directly says that beng homosexual is a straight up sin. the words used are "detestable", "shamefull acts" that should recieve "the due penalty for such acts", they "will inherit the kingdom of God" among others.

but then again why give a shit about the bible if you wanna be gay? just live your life. nobody is forced to be a christian.

It is in Leviticus, but I am not sure where. Whoever does it doesn't get to be resurrected ever. It is in the old King James version (original English translation), but it may have changed in recent editions because more liberal priests/preachers are trying to change the Bible, which is a sin too. They are intentionally altering it to make things that are religiously totally unacceptable be acceptable because more and more priests/preachers are NOT actually Christians.

No. The modern changes directly go AGAINST Christianity. Over 1,500 words have been changed.
The point of it being translated into English, which is what the original King James version was, is because some heads of churches were frequently lying to the people for their own benefit. Mainly the Catholic church committed many sins and were obsessed with greed. The Catholic church frequently went against what God wanted, including praying to others, chanting, and paying money in exchange for bad deeds.

It is not sin to feel attracted to same gender, as it is beyond your control, but it sin to act upon such temptations (by thought, action or other). You should try to overcome that or stay celibate. There are meny verses in the bible, especially Old Testament that condemn such practices. Just use google.
