Gay - Lesbian. Exp. Soddom and Gomorrah.
How strict do you want to be?
The older bible does not, ever, at any point, explicitly speak against being gay or homosexuality. Despite popular belief, it just isn't there.
There are passages that we interpret. There is the famous Leviticus ones or a man should not lay with a man as he does a woman. But that's not really in regards to the bible. That's the guidelines for how a priest ought to behave and not through divine providence.
The new testament has two or three passages but none of them are truly that damning. One is seemingly made up so we'll skip the roman one as it funnily uses much more modern language than the other parts of the same writing. To explain: if you randomly go from "Oh woe is thee whom sought thine.." to "So he choked, had no rizz and..." I struggle to take it seriously and so should you.
As for Paul's epistle first of it condemns about a dozen things, straight sex among them. Isn't really regarded as God's view but Paul's. And the comment about homosexuality in it is a made up combination of greek words that mean "man-bed". That it would mean homosexuality is in itself a stretch and we do not know, but even if it does it would only equate gay sex to straight sex. Which isn't particularly damning when you keep it in context.
Now. If we include other associated texts it quickly becomes a sin. As does many other things. Having a bank account is a sin. Renting out an apartment is, notably by Jesus, said to be a worse sin than whoring yourself out or stealing.
So well, we can view it as a sin or not a sin. But if we are to view it as a sin we really ought to torch every bank in existence too. Among many other actions. Jesus words surely weigh heavier than Paul's.

No. The Bible is actually pretty clear on this, and not in the direction most people seem to think. Leviticus condemns it (along with things like polyester and crop rotation), but Acts 10:15 makes it pretty clear that divine intention and action is what matters in that regard; that God is a living entity, not a blind, unthinking set of rules. Mark 12:33-34, while occurring earlier, verifies this. Then along comes Paul, who has a stick up his butt about homosexuality (and not in a sexy gay way), and declares himself an Apostle, that it's suddenly and inexplicably the will of God to contradict the message of Jesus and turn a Jewish apocalypse cult into a system of reinforcing Roman social ethics, with his own anti-gay biases added in, of course.
Of course, the Bible is just the Bible; we weren't given sense, reason and intellect with the intention that we not use them. Biases against pork, in the era of widespread trichinosis, made sense; ditto for those against shellfish for a people who often have medical problems with eating them. But at no point is a reason for bias against homosexuality given, nor is one logically deducible. With all due respect to Islam, Abraham's refusal to tell God to fuck off when He told him to sacrifice Isaac, as well as Isaac's decision to continue worshiping a god who told his father to sacrifice him, were the biggest mistakes in the history of Judaism. A few requests for clarification early on could've avoided thousands of years of pain and suffering.
Beyond those specifics, sin, by its very nature, requires moral agency- which you don't have when it comes to orientation. Being gay isn't a choice, and thus can't be considered a sin.
Soddom and Gomorrah is Old Testament. Remember Jesus and the New Testament came to "fulfill" the Old Testament.
Christ never disparaged gay people, or ridiculed or was angry with anyone but the people who were lending money at the Temple, which was holy ground, and not a place of business.
In fact, he never said anything about anything but to "love one another as I have loved you." Without prejudice or bias. Judge lest not you be judged.
God made everyone. God doesn't make mistakes or sins. People are who and as they are.
And lemme tell ya, a while ago black people were said to be black because they were the children of Cain, and their skin color was the "mark" of Cain. They were cursed. They were inferior. Less than human.
So there are religious people who believe all this Old Testament stuff. But the bible was written by men from thousands of years ago. And God reveals himself anew every day and we're all wiser from new knowledge that didn't exist more than 2,000 years ago.
Just as the British though Indians were inferior, and Americans thought American Indians were inferior. Straight people, some anyway, want to think that not being straight is a sin and wrong.
It's all foolishness. Gay people are nothing new. Always been here, always will be here. Just a part of the human condition. No harm, no foul.
According to Christian Bible is homosexuality a deadly sin like suicide. If I was pious catholic I would be confused when the Pope gives sacraments to homosexual couples instead calling for Crusade against LGBT+ movement. If...
Personally I don't care, church is a bunch of pedo priests and hypocrites.

yes. even though i am not against it.
the purpose of life is reproduction, homosexuality is not fruithfull in that area and this is the reason it is a sin.
if you really born that way your test in this life is to keep it under control and not act on it.
That's not something that I believe (I don't accept the concept of sin), but it is the case that the Bible does condemn it in those terms, in both the Old and New Testaments.

Sin in the biblical and church sense. Yes probably. I am sad I can't add that sin to my list as well. I am going to hell, if the church has a word in it, anyway so better arrive down there with a highscore. If church sayings happen to be untrue as expected I can just arrive beside the pope and tell him: "told you!"
That being said pope may not be the right person to compare myself if its about sins. WIth all that shit the church does he has a headstart.
It’s not, imaging having a book that spreads hate about people that love each other. You have 2 girls who love each other but these books tell people that everyone must hate them, even kill them. Then people say that it’s about being nice to people, lol
No, not at all. Nobody can help who they're attracted to and, even if it was a sin, what could possibly happen to them because of it? Big bad cloud jockey gonna come down and punish them? If god hates fags and lezzies, why did it make so many of them?
No - if people only followed every religious text from thousands of years ago, nothing would ever get done, plus there are a bunch of other stuff condemned or looked down on, people just like to pick and choose which to follow to fit their own agenda
If someone chose to be a homosexual than yes it's a sin but if someone is born like that TRULY! than i don't think that it's a sin, it's just not right and abnormal but cannot say that it's a sin, i don't even know if someone can truly be born as a homosexual
It depends on the interpretation.
"Sin" is a cruel word which brings a lot of negativity.
I would say that as long as you don't break the law and don't hurt others or yourself, you are goodNope
Besides Sodom and Gomorrah was destroyed because the populace had no hospitality, not because God had an issue with dudes fucking each otherYes. By the way, archaeologists recently found the actual location of Sodom & Gomorrah. The rocks are melted and shadows are burned into stones exactly as if a nuclear explosion happened.
According to the Catholic Church, homosexuality is a mortal sin, as it is contrary to God's established plan for procreation.
I honestly do not consider it as such.
No, I imagine if a gay guy had the choice he would not be gay. It is the way God made them.
I do Not Judge But Have Dated Bi, Gay Guys. But in The Bible, Yes, A Sin. God Says To Love The Sinner and Hate The Sin. xxoo
Yes. God created a man for a woman to be attracted and have sex with.
Two people of the same gender can't produce life and being sexual with one another especially men are extremely disgusting individuals and mentally sick as well.
Even if it is - who they be hurting? It does not violate any taught principles.
Islam only might say "homosexuality bad" but that's about it.
Obviously. Hence why it's got no religion that supports or advocates it.
The state of being gay is not a sin. Homosexual relations are.
It is only a sin if you actively practice it. The inclination itself is not a sin it itself if you do not indulge in it.
Being gay is clearly a sin as said in the bible, but I am not religious, and not gay. :)
According to many religions its a sin but the question we have to ask first is how true those religions are...
