What country? Average height for countries around the world vary by a foot, from 4-8 to 5-8. The shortest being in some Central American and Asian countries. The tallest in northern Europe. 5-5 is probably pretty close to the world average, maybe just slightly taller.

I just confirmed with my friend Google that 5'5" is the exact average in the US. And as far as I know, the average height goes for 5'3" or 5'4" in other places too. So fear not, that is a good height. You are not too short and you are not too tall. :D

If I'm not mistaken the average height for a woman world wide is 5'3"-5'4" so I suppose you're above average.

I definitely wouldn't say 5'5" was short. I suppose in Europe an America it may be average.
