No, that has never happened to me so far... for a rather boring reason. Quite frankly, I've just never had the chance to actually do something when I was horny for someone. Because unfortunately, it was always just a one-sided attraction and the girl did or would have rejected me anyway. You will perhaps tell me now that I should be happy about that but I'm not. You can't imagine how it feels when you never get approached by the opposite sex. Already for this alone I wish I was a girl. It must be awesome when guys come up to you and tell you that you're hot and that they want to sleep with you. I've never had a one night stand in my whole life and I wasn't even close to getting one when I tried to get one. And for all the girlfriend I've had so far (including the current one), I was always the one who had to ask them for their number, ask them for a date, ask them if they want to be together with me... I really am sick of always being in the position of doing everything. I wish there would be a girl once in a while who just comes up to me and asks me for sex and I'd just follow my dick and go with the flow. Cuz that is what being young is all about. You can be rational when you're 50. I wish I had been given the opportunity to be a little more wild in my youth.

I would be inclined to say the fact you are having "doubts" are the only advice you need - Get to know the guy, he might become someone you wish to get intimate with but then again he may not - In a situation like this I would usually wait, the closest thing for me to your example was I stayed in a disastrous relationship too long because I thought I wanted it but my losses far outweighed any gains I was got.
The way I have always looked at it is to try and get intimate with people when it feels like it is the right thing to do not because you have a impulsive want to do it.
Seriously isn't it better to be sure than to rush into something you may regret later. Impatience is often a temporary thing whereas fulfillment is a permanment thing.
It is obviously your choice so all I would say is think carefully and good luck in any decision you make.

Why does objective attractiveness matter? For me, all I care about is if I feel attracted to her - subjectively attracted to her, not if she's considered objectively attractive as I see no purpose in that and furthermore, it commodifies people.

Average means I might have a slight chance at a relationship with him, which I don't want. Above average means I'm just good for a lay, because I'm not seen as a girlfriend type. Which is fine.
