Is it weird if a guy likes songs from female singers?

I like a lot of female artists, for example: Avril Lavigne, Evanescence, Nelly Furtado, tATu, BoA, Utada Hikaru, Leona Lewis, Mary Elizabeth McGlynn and Pink.

Sometimes I've been looked at funny when I've told others that I listen to female music.

Someone once told me that it makes a guy "gay" if he listens to female singers. Does it make a guy "gay"? o_o

It just seems weird because I think female artists have some of the most amazing music and voices.

You are not homosexual because of your music preferences. Last I checked your sexuality is determined by the gender you are sexually attracted to. Seems like if you listen to only female singers you are a lot less homosexual than the people telling you that you need to only be listening to male singers.

My husband listens to tATu and Utada and Cascada and other things of that nature. I have friends who are very much into Utada and Ayumi Hamasaki. I wouldn't worry about it if I were you. Music tastes are very personal and are about as hard to explain as food preferences. You keep listening to whatever makes you feel good! :D

Not at all.

Everyone has different taste in music.

You can't really help what sounds good to your ears.

It does not make you gay at all.

Stop caring what other people think, ignore them. They're the ones missing out on some great songs.

And it's not even relevant that you like some artists who happen to be females, anyone can relate to their lyrics on some level. That's why music is so universal, so connecting.

no, it happens. but ill tell you a story...in eighth grade ceramics class everyone thoughtt his one boy was gay because he sang girls songs...pretty stupid...

but no...i know a lot of guys who like girl lead singing songs.

Let's be realistic, what makes anyone believe that someone may inherit the qualities of the sexual orientation from the singer/song?

Hey man this shouldn't be that much of a concern, plus if people judge you on the types of songs you listen to then they must have some insecurities or just some close-minded bitter person.

Everyone has preferences and we should not judge others for listening to songs sung by females/males, or judge at all. Have a nice day.

I certainly don't see it as gay. While I listen to a fair amount of music by guys, I also listen to a fair amount of music with female singers, I just like the sound of them singing, I don't feel it has any bearing on my sexuality. It's really just about what sort of music appeals to you.
