Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yThin women can be sexy, of course, but voluptuous women are sexy in a way that thin women can't be. While an overweight woman be voluptuous, voluptuous ≠ overweight. Curvy? Yes.

Opinion Owner+1 yCrap. I knew I answered this for you before. You Didn't believe any guy who told you it was a good thing. If you're not going to listen, why keep asking?
- +1 y
Because it still bothers me & I'm looking for a response that'll 'click'
Opinion Owner+1 yWhat might that be?
- +1 y
If I knew I wouldn't still be searching for it, now would I? :)
Opinion Owner+1 yI was being sarcastic. I don't think you'll find a satisfying answer because you have a preconceived notion about it being fat and you aren't open to being moved off your dot. You had good, sincere answers before (a rarity for GAG) and you reinterpreted all of them as meaning fat. Except with one interlocutor, you thought he meant "fat but still fuckable" or something like that.
I would love to discuss it with you if you were more sincere about it. What bothers you so much about the term?- +1 y
That it's just a polite euphemism for fat. It would be more honest to just call the person fat
Opinion Owner+1 yWhat about the answer of @TheLuckyPizzaDog, which you liked, and I agree. Kat Dennings is indeed voluptuous. When Two Broke Girls came out and I saw her for the first time, voluptuous is the first word that came to mind? Do you consider her fat?
- +1 y
No, she just has big boobs. I don't think big boobs alone qualifies someone as voluptuous. I don't think that I'm voluptuous either so I don't know why he would use that word
- +1 y
A) I'm a girl and
B) you asked for our definition of voluptuous. Kat Dennings was the first person that came to mind. Yeah, she's got huge boobs and hips. She's curvy af. She's what I think of as voluptuous.
C) is she fat? I suppose. I don't know her weight and idc really, but to have such big boobs and thighs she's gotta have more fat than muscle. But does it look bad? Not at all. She proportionate and hella pretty actually.
Opinion Owner+1 yDennings has more going on than a big chest. Her cheeks and lips contribute, too, and she's got hips and an ass, too, they're just not as exaggerated as her breasts. She is the epitome of voluptuous without being overweight. If you look at her shoulders, she's almost bony, even.
A lot of people, including you, misuse the word as a euphemism for fat. Whoever "he" is may well be right and, if you yourself know you aren't fat, why let it bother you so much?- +1 y
What woman wants to basically be called fat by a man that she's seeing. You would hope that he'd be attracted to you
- +1 y
He didn't call you fat. He called you voluptuous. Meaning you have nice curves. Its got a positive connotation.
Opinion Owner+1 yLots of people have told you it doesn't mean fat. If you don't believe us, believe the dictionary. Believe *every* dictionary. Not one of these says a damn thing about fat! Not even Urban Dictionary, which isn't so much a dictionary as a reflection of culture that loves to be rude and crude.
My wish is simply that you can see "voluptuous" may have been meant as a sincere compliment, even if it retains a negative connotation in your mind. But I'm ready to give up on you again because it's no fun arguing with someone who is just going to be stubborn. I actually don't mind an argument, but say something we haven't heard yet!

I respect your opinion & I know that I'm stubborn. Lots of people have also told me that it does mean fat/chubby. Even in his explanation, he said it meant "a little healthy meat that looks good". Healthy meat? lol does not sound like a compliment to me
Opinion Owner+1 yThat is rather crude. I would be peeved, too, if I were you. What became of it with him?
- +1 y
Told you. We still talk & stuff, but it hasn't been the same since this argument. His explanations only dig him a deeper hole
Opinion Owner+1 yYeah, I've been on both sides of that. No matter how awfully he said it and how deep he dug, in your heart, do you really think he intended to insult you or do you think he actually finds you attractive?
I can understand if it's too far gone to repair your relationship, but, either way, try to forgive him. It's for your benefit, not his.
Please remember some (most?) people who use the word mean it only in a positive way. I am one of them. Though I find a wide variety of female body types attractive, it's the perfect word for the one I'm most attracted to. I know I'm not the only one. It's why paintings and statues of love/fertility goddesses like Venus and Aphrodite are nearly always voluptuous. Basic biology. Nevertheless, I shall be very cautious about using the word going forward.
I hope you do find an answer that clicks so you can put it behind you.

I honestly don't know. He insists that he doesn't think that I'm fat. He's called me sexy, attractive, etc. before. I don't think it was intention to insult me. Why insult a woman that you're having sex with? He said it was meant as a compliment. I still feel offended though. How can you tell if a man is actually attracted to you? lol
Opinion Owner+1 yHow do you know? He told you so and he got an erection when he had sex with you, that's how. What more can any guy do than to tell you and prove it?
The word clearly has a stigma for you. I get that now. But you said yourself you don't think he meant it as an insult. He's a dumb insensitive guy the same as the rest of us. But what guy says stupid shit on purpose so he can stop getting laid? None that I know.

+1 yI can't believe you're still unsure about this. You were given good answers last time Hun, do you just want people to tell you it means fat to make you feel justified in being mad at him?
People have given good, honest opinions and none of them were your interpretation - what is it you want exactly?21 Reply- +1 y
I can't believe you remember this. Don't know what I want exactly. Want to hear something that'll 'click'
Someone curvy with big boobs, big butt, thick legs.

+1 yFor me it can either mean curvy in an ample way, or just plain out plus size.
02 Reply- +1 y
Don't you think those two things are basically the same?
- +1 y
could be, yes. Maybe I made a distinction without a difference. But voluptuous is generally considered to be a sensuous, sexy thing. And lots of plus size girls are just that.
