What is the best way to explore human nature: psychology, philosophy or biology?

I picked philosophy.

I studied psychology and philosophy in college. Personally, I found that psychology does not go into the human mind or human nature as much as people think it does, but it also depends on the courses you take. I majored in it and got my degree, so I have a sizeable sample of psych classes. I think it's more scientific than people believe it is. A lot of research and studies (both reading them and learning how to do them, then actually doing them), learning about the brain, learning about drugs, theories, terms, statistics.

I took some biology and anatomy classes... did not get "human nature" from them at all.

Philosophy pulls from all types of fields, including psychology, and a lot of what you'd read in philosophy are basically long, dry writings all about what some guy thinks humans really are like and the things people do and why. I think this is what people believe psychology is/does/teaches. I minored in English and philosophy, and I think both of those fields do what people believe psychology does a lot more than psychology does. Most of what you do in English classes is read literature about people (fake, but based on reality), then discuss, write about and analyze those people and their situations/actions to death. Basically, all three of the subjects I focused on in college were very connected to each other.

A combination of the three. They all examine us in different ways. I wanted to say psychology though, considering it is my major.

While all 3 can provide with a lot of knowledge sort of, the first 2 I would say do more so really, can give you an understanding, but when it comes to classes etc, psychology is rather outdated or narrow minded in many ways. Only accept things within their square box sort of. Best way to explore human nature in my opinion is to just experience it. Get to know people and yourself. Why people think the way they do, why you feel and think the way you do also The more diverse people you get to know sort of, with maybe various crazy backgrounds it can give you a good view into the human psyche.

You can also do this philosophical too. Trying to present your own answers, brood and think about many lifes mysterys and find your own solution or idea to them. That can give you a lot of insight both into the world and youself too.

Implemented however.. the best way to explore human nature, is by looking at people in their everyday lives.

I think all of the above, there's no such thing as knowing too much because no one has all the answers but if we all combine our thoughts, we boost the chances of having all the answers or at least be in the ballpark

As a psych student, I'm happy with my major but philosophy helped even show more appreciation for humanity and life, I'm learning bio and it's just fascinating

Trick question. The first and third option can be often inside the second. Philosophy is literally everything. Think about it. Philosophy has the ability to tell you what biology is (philosophy of science) and for psychology, it's the science that philosophy holds hands with but philosophy definitely is bigger.
