What's your definition of a daddy's girl?

A woman who depends on her dad as if she were still a child. This could take the form of money (paying cell bill), services (fixing car). In extreme cases the woman pretends to be helpless (or fears doing new things) and is unable to even pump her own gas but dad will 'rescue' her and do it for her. To a man trying to have a relationship with such a woman he will feel marginalized as dad dominates her view of the world and she needs dad to approve all of her decisions. I think sometimes the woman really believes she is helpless and needs dad. In other cases she is manipulating dad. In still others it is a combination. Some boyfriend/husbands take on the role of dad too. In those relationships it is only a problem if one of the parties thinks it is.

Mine, about 35 years ago this past April, the day she was born. When she went on her first date, I was the chauffeur for the afternoon. The boy was so scared to hold my daughters hand and I didn't know how to tell him it would be ok, or maybe I didn't want to, lol. Its her learning how to drive a clutch. It's all her birthdays, college graduation @ state and then the proudest moment in a father's life, walking her down the aisle. GOOD LUCK!!😊

I don't care for the stereotype that is thought of when the term "daddy's girl" is given: that if a girl is a daddy's girl that means she must be spoiled.
I am a daddy's girl; I'm his only child and daughter. He will always be protective of me. He taught me to be independent and to be a hard worker; how to take care of and think for myself; how to essentially build a house; defend myself, etc. To me, being a daddy's girl is about the connection I have with my father.
