If someone keeps looking at you from a distance what does it mean?

So I came in to this place and I think the peopel were trying to make me feel like I didn't belong.

Avoiding most people, I noticed this one person who was looking at me from afar but he didn't have the remotest hint of a smile on his face.

I could only think of two things. Either he was totally bored or his looks were endorsing the whole she doesn't belong here what is she doing here. The nerve of those people
