Wiping ass with toilet paper is so gross?

In countries like Turkey, India and Japan, they have water bidets attached to clean the ass which is so sanitary and clean.
But here its so dirty that people clean their asses with paper than water.
That area is the dirtiest part yet nobody bothers to clean there with water.
And lots of people don't even shower daily. Plus some girls even wipe from the back to the front.
Why don't western people also petition for shower jets and bidets for personal hygiene?

According to what source?
There is literally nothing to support that notion, the only advantage bidets were found to have over toilet paper is that it prevents irritation that toilet paper normally causes.

And I'm sorry but I simply DOUBT that sprinkling some water on your ass is more cleansing than wiping it until the paper is clean.
And considering that this practice is mostly prevalent in third world countries where people also tend to shit out on the streets, I find these claims of hygienic advantages to be very dubious.

I guess it is pretty disgusting but I don't see how water is any less disgusting? It's more convenient I'd say because you aren't in as close contact with it, but water doesn't remove bacteria (right?) so in the end you will be just as dirty as if you used paper. Unless you use soap, but I don't think that is a thing (?). Also, showering every day is actually not recommended as it is bad for your skin.
