I spent $38,000 in 68 days... Each day that went by I got more depressed. All that money I got dumped into my account. I was on top of the world when I got it.. It never bought me happiness not once, I thought it did at first... The dishonesty it took to get it ruined me... However when I changed my life and did an honest deed I was looking at 10+ years, and even looking at that, I still felt better that I did what a real man should do in the eyes of God whole no one else was watching.. That's when it counts... The judge threw out my case, they said they've never seen anyone ever change that dramatically in their whole career as a lawyer, then a prosecutor and now a judge.. So he is going to to throw my case... That is what honesty bought... It bought my life, my wife's life, and that of my childrens'... Thanks for listen... I enjoyed the question.
Money is just a trick to control people.
It symbolizes power, but it's just pieces of paper, they have big machines that print off sheets and sheets and sheets of it. You'd have to have a caveman's intelligence to be suckered in by such an obvious ruse. Whoever owns the printing presses is effectively your God.
That's why they keep treating humans more and more like livestock. What else can you do with herd animals?

It is better to be honest and poor than dishonest and rich. If you are dishonest and rich you will live your life in luxury but knowing that you lied about many things and to many people to get what you want including money. if you are poor but honest, you may not be able to afford luxury but what you would be able to afford is respect from people around you which would lead to better things than to simply be rich. You will live your life knowing you were honest and true to yourself and your honesty could be valued by people around you.
Dishonest and rich, people don't deserve the sympathy they very often get. It's a dog eat dog world.
I am not a crook because I don't steal, but I have never helped someone who didn't stab me in the back.
Do you know how successful I've been? but I have nothing to show for it, always playing the hero.
Okay, taking advice from Napoleon Bonaparte is never a good sign.
I would say it's best to be honest and poor. Being dishonest and rich means that you will lose everything when the truth comes out.
And it always does.

I agree, that quote is bullshit and I am pretty well off. It takes more talent to be honest. Anyone can lie. But it takes real wisdom, empathy, salesmanship etc to get what you need and want when you are honest. Plus you will be seen as trustworthy and make better friends.
honest and poor because money does not buy you character morals and values. money does not buy you trust or true compassion from the heart. honesty is part of all these things, making you who you are and not what you are. wealth is much more than just money.
If you've ever had to scrap by growing up you know the answer.

First of all that qoute is garbage.
Its 1000 times better to be poor than a rich liar.
Why? Because a liar and dishonest people are horrible human beings. They will screw anyone and everyone over to get an advantage of them in the process hurting them for money. Love doesn't hurt others.
Depends on what you value more, material things or accept "good" morals. If it's the former, then dishonest and rich, if the latter then honest and poor. Personally, I'd choose honest and poor, because I'm not a very materialistic person.

You can sleep better being honest. Beautiful women would be plentiful if you are rich. Trump sure has his share.
What I find funny is that some of the richest people on earth are still some of the most miserable SOBs on earth.
Honest and poor. Poor is more so like a mindset. In America there is a huge chance to become wealthy or rich.
Righteousness with contentment is great gain. Better to eat herbs in peace than to eat Fat chicken in war and fight.
I like honest and rich. you don't have to scum to have money, and you shouldn't settle for a man who is. a good woman makes a good man great, and a bad man better.
honesty is an overrated concept in the first place.
Being dishonest has nothing to do with money keanu reeves is the coolest motherfuckers ever as an example
People seem ready to assume that you can't have integrity and still make lots of money. I'll do both.
In the end you have to choose yourself so dishonest and rich
I would wanna be rich so if being dishonest is needed for it then count me in. Anyway truth is a matter of perspective.
Honesty is worth more than diamonds to my eyes. Money is power, I do not seek power, I seek happiness.
to be rich and a liar, you need to be poor and honest first.
