Hamsters and gerbils and other rodents stink. I mean that literally. They are cute as hell but the stench of their cages is unbearable. They need to be cleaned daily, and still, they stink.
Parakeets are not like parrots. They aren't as intelligent. There is little reward in keeping such a pet. They become little more than art, a household feature easily forgotten and ignored. Larger birds a much more rewarding, more interactive, but they have a long life-span which makes them a huge investment.
Fish are also more of a household feature, merely something to look at while passing by the tank. But they are a relatively easy pet to care for. The tank can be, for the most part, self sustaining if you get the right fish. (Catfish and other bottom feeders can go a long way toward cleaning the tank.) They don't spread a nasty odor throughout the home, as rodents do. They don't make noise day and night as birds do. They have short lifespans so there isn't a huge time investment. They are cold blooded and completely unaware of the humans who feed them so there is no emotional investment.
Of the three choices, fish definitely take the prize for best pet.

I voted parakeet. I actually have one. So friendly and fun. She is tame and talks a plays with me and is very affectionate and loves head rubs that I give with my finger.
I’m going for hamsters.
Goldfish are difficult to care for! I had one as a kid (like 5-6 years old) and you I didn’t know how much care goldfish needed until about a year ago. I can’t believe how long my childhood goldfish lived for living in a bowl!
Parakeets sound nice. I would love to own one someday, maybe. But I don’t know enough about them to want to get one. Besides, they seem like the loudest pet on the list.
I chose hamster because I’ve already owned rats and mice before. Rodents are all pretty similar as far as diet, environment, etc. goes so I’d know how to care for one. I still have some rodent stuff lol. Plus, hamsters are the cutest ones on this list, arguably.
None! Parakeets are annoying, goldfish produce a lot of waste, hamsters are pretty boring! I’d say get a pair of female rats if you want to play with them, male if you want cuddle buddies! If you are going to get a bird get a real bird. A smart one. Get tropical fish not good fish.
Well eliminate parakeets. I don’t like them.
Hamsters? They’re not rabbits (but they’re a rodent, but it’s not the same lol) so take those out of the equations aswell.
I picked goldfishes. I have 4 fishes from the goldfish family. I love them 🐠🐠❤️

Gold fish. Easiest to care for and easiest to replace when it dies.
I had a parakeet when I was little. Don't want any more pets because seeing him die literally in front of my eyes broke my heart. Don't wanna go through that experience again 😢
Not hamsters because 2 of mine died from petsmart and they were severely sick.
Parakeets are talkative AND VERY SMART.
Goldfish are boring to me.All three of those are pets for people who aren't responsible enough to have real pets.
Hamsters. I've never seen one before but they look adorable.
Hamsters are fellow mammals, so I guess I like them more.
#specieismWe have both hamsters and goldfish... I prefer the hamsters to either goldfish or parakeets.
I like hamsters and parakeets equally. A fish would be a bit too boring for me 😅
I like rodents but I prefer rats and mice to hamsters, gerbils or guinea pigs.
I have had all of them when I was a kid and hamsters were the only thing you could actually play around with , bird was just noisy and fish did nothing so hamster was only pet fun to have
I don't mind, my cat isn't to fussy about her diet, she'll eat them all.
I would like Goldfish they are the easiest to care for.
I've had goldfish and we've had a pet hamster but not a parakeet so I Can't comment on that.
That's not a parakeet, that's a Budgie. Hamsters are the cutest but Budgies are the funnest.
hamster, they are adorable. gold fish are boring and parakeets make to much noise
Where is the horse option?
Hamsters because I like fluffy things
I had mice and fish too much for me.
My parrot speaks fluent Chinese.
