Does the word “rendezvous” have romantic connatiotions?

I went to lunch with a girl, just fast food, nothing fancy, and she called it a rendezvous. Does that word have romantic connotations?

Not really, you could just call it that if you wanted to sound more fancy, but it's just a word. Perhaps given it's French and French is considered to be a romance language, you could say she was trying to be more romantic. Who knows..
