When I was about 8 or 9 years old I had this friend who was two years older than me and told me scary stories all the time including stories about city bears (bears that sometimes roam in cities).

It was evening during this one fall, really dark outside. There was this forest next to where we lived and it was sort of a challenge to go there when it's dark. So we went.. We see a really dark and large thing in the distance. My friends whispers that it's a city bear and I should run when he says so. So he shouts run and runs towards the "bear". I run back to the safety of street lights.

He makes fighting noises in the forest then comes back and says he fought the "bear" back and for a little while I believed him... Gullible much? :D

Ace is acid by the way, or a strain or whatever. When I was squatting downtown a lot of my friends did it. Not a fan...

Also religion. "Hey have you ever been told about the story of God?"
Me: yes and it's just as annoying now as it was the first time.

When I was younger, my parents would scare me into being a well-behaved child by regaling me with tales of Baba Yaga (a child-eating witch from Slavic folklore).
Every time that I would misbehave, they would recount, in vivid detail, random tales of children who--incidentally--were guilty of the same mischief as me, and as a result, ended up being snatched by Baba Yaga and tossed into her cauldron to be boiled alive and eaten (sometimes not in that order).

And people wonder where I get my cruel streak from.
