What's your definition on Pretty Boy?

Last time I asked a question related to the word "pretty boy" people had different opinions on if it was a compliment or an insult. Now I want to know your definition on the word. #PrettyBoy #Definition

My definition:
For me pretty boy is an insult. It don't need to have anything to do with femininity, immature or looking like a kid to do. My definition on it is that when a guy are good looking or above average, but apart from that is useless. Often mean or do evil things too. The only thing he has is looks. Without it he's nothing and don't do anything good.

Example: Such a pretty boy! He can't do anything apart from oppressing people and being a mean asshole.

Example: These gangstas are a bunch of pretty boys!

Pretty boy in the black community isn't so much about a feminine guy. Just means he spends too much time on his looks rather than sports etc or like he stays checkin himeelf out. They be fine af too. But they conceited and stuckup

around where i live its used to describe a relatively good looking guy who thinks he’s entitled to better treatment only because of his looks.

But i’ve also seen it used to just describe a handsome boy who doesn’t have a “rugged” look (that’s the first definition i think of when i hear it).

I agree with you, however in my mind I unfortunately take it one step Further where I instantly think of narcissistic and is potentially dangerous or could kill me. I stay away from them

I think it exists different degree of pretty boys. We've:
- That one who can't do a thing. No talents/skills, but are lazy and stupid
- That one who's just an asshole calling you an idiot and treating you bad
- A criminal. Thief, drug dealer, scammer etc.
- The politically or religious extremist fanatics
- The terrorist or murder

So basically we've very similar definition.

Some people have called me a prettyboy, and usually it's a compliment sayin "I'mma good-lookin and young-lookin dude".. Basically "cute".. It depends on the context though..

I appreciate when my boyfriend styles his hair or wears a nice outfit. But I'm not attracted to pretty boys, I like a more rugged look and a guy who is less interested in his looks. I like more of a Jon Hamm type. Put together but not made up.

I agree with your definition except I don't find them good-looking. For me, the more masculine a guy looks the more attractive he is and I'm pointing at bone structure which is unchangeable.

So an adult guy regardless if he's young or old, feminine or masculine can be a pretty boy as long he looks good and is useless/mean in addition to that. A pretty boy could look as masculine as these guys:

I can't call a masculine looking guy pretty. It's contradicting. He would be called handsome not pretty so I still disagree with that part. I can't see the pics though

I don't see it as contradictory and the word "pretty" and "boy" don't have the best association for most guys. "Pretty" may at first sound positive, but the positive word used in certain context makes it not sounding that positive anymore and "boy" mean not being grown up personality wise here. It's for instance childish for a grown up adult to not understand being mean is a bad thing or still doing it despite the fact it's hurting. So with that association and that undertone I think it suits the definition perfect.

"Handsome" is a word I uses about men who are good looking generally. "Pretty boy" is only used about guys with an useless or bad personality. Pretty boys can be handsome too - but I use the "pretty boy" word about them.

No man pretty means for me 'cute or feminine looking or baby face. I just can't call a masculine looking guy that. It's really contradicting in my opinion.

@Ahsthen, my point was that people looking like them masculinity wise could also fit into my definition on "pretty boy". You don't need to be like one direction, Justin Bieber or K-pop.
