I have grappling and striking training. So karate is of course embedded in my muscle memory. There are no rules in a street fight. Karate has many levels to it. Sorry i lied.. in a street fight there is 1 very important rule if you want to walk around a free man or woman. Use only the amount of force necessary to get away or call for help. I have a friend thats a cop and told me that when he saw how i had to lay down a jerk that was showing off with his friends towards me. Long story short... don't break any joints or bones especially don't kill them by hitting them the vital spots that you are tought at a black and brown belt level. SORRY about the long winded answer but yes karate is useful because you learn to deflect punchs, kicks and not break your fist trying to punch your way out of danger.. lol

Absolutely! I know from experience. Karate is only good against other practitioner. It's too complicated and focusses on moves that aren't likely to happen the way you were trained. It might help against a loser who thinks they can fight but an actual person who knows how to fight or has been in many fights will destroy the karate master.
I got into a sparring session with my 4th degree black belt instructor when I was 17 and beat his ass. He couldn't do anything, I knew boxing and wrestling and that was enough to outperform him.
I heard Krav Maga and boxing are best? As for karate I suppose that’d depend on what skills your opponent has, but against anyone who’s not trained in any martial arts, I’d say it’s definitely an advantage.
No it's a good martial art. Just remember that you're on the street.

No. It's pretty solid in a street fight. It's a rather defensive martial art, or rather it takes advantage of mistakes and weaknesses. Any untrained person on the street would basically be dismembered by a trained martial artist. (Not literally of course.)
Not completely useless - it all depends on the fighter. However there are martial arts that are much more effective such as boxing, muay thai, MMA, BJJ (although in a street fight you should avoid going to the ground if possible), and if you can find classes inyour area and can afford it Krav Maga is probably the best since it's designed especially for the street whereas the others are sports. They're still better than karate though.
Krav maga works, so does Kali/eskrima. I've trained both but every "real" martial arts teacher will tell you the same thing. Best way to not get hurt is being able to run faster then your opponent. If your opponent or one of his friends decide to pull a blade your chances of getting out unscaved drop severely. No matter how much you train.
Useless? No. Especially useful? No. Useful if compared to specialised combat teachings? No.
Besides, which school of Karate? That makes a major difference.MMA also helps but really for a fight outside off the ring you need street fighting skulls cause no-one is going to fight by ring rules
If they have a knife or gun, most definitely.
If it's hand-to-hand, it could be useful. But karate or not, if you're not faster or stronger, then you'll struggle. Remember, no one bows in street fightsNot even a little bit. At least not if you know what you are doing and have the balls to back it up.
Better than nothing, muscle memory doing all your punches and shit. But yes it is.
Boxing, wrestling, and BJJ is best. The lower levels are. Brown or black would be more decisive in a street fight where there are no rules. Combine your training with more street fight orientated arts.
Any good martial artist will destroy an untrained fighter.
Yes. Using karate in a real life fight is like salsa dancing with a swing dancer. Its retarded.
From an aggressive standpoint a bit but defensively even knowing how to stand with stable footing is a huge advantage.
Nah, street fighting is just dirty fighting, you just gotta use your karate skills in anticipation.
Karate sucks in a fight
If used correctly, no.
