Do you think wetsuits smell like weed?

I was kayaking with a friend and both of us thought we could smell weed - turns out it was the smell of the wetsuits. 😂

No, that's not normal. I'm assuming you rented them, either the people who rented them before smoked weed around them or the kids in the kayak shack that you rented from were smoking around them.

no neoprene has a very distinctive smell and not like weed i would have said. i would think that its more likely that you caught a wiff of someones spliff and the smell must have lingered

They do when they don't dry properly and grow a biofilm/mould.

i'd never rent wetsuit, people pee in them to warm up themselves , I have my own but haven;t peed in them since I was a kid :P you can't wash out the smell out of them

That smell I think comes from stale, wet, body odor musk.
