It's the wrong term as it's short for "futanari" in Japanese, and is probably closer to "shemale" in meaning.

Though such people tend to be outcasts in Japanese society, similar to lepers. Thus probably slang in implying someone is an "outcast".

If your using the word "Futa" to describe the genre or someone with both parts then it's not offensive. Futa isn't even the same as someone who changed their gender, now if we're talking about whether tranny or shemale is offensive then 100% it is when used outside of the trip-X scene
