No, hope isn't dangerous. Hope is what keeps you from giving up and dying. Hope will get you through the worst of times.

Expectations aren't dangerous, either. High expectations fuel high performance. Having no expectations means you have no standards. Leaving your expectations unspoken and holding people accountable when they doubt meet them is toxic. But expectations themselves are healthy if they're realistic and expressed.
