Why are builders afraid to have a 13th floor but book publishers aren't afraid to have a Chapter 11?

I think its a French thing to be afraid of 13 number. I used to watch oggy and the cockroaches which was a french show. They used to show Friday 13 as a horror day. And similarly Chandigarh has no sector 13 coz the person who designed that City was a frenchman

Chapter 11 isn’t the bad one. Chapter 7 is. And even that’s only bad if you’re a corporation.

Builders aren't afraid of it, they just found those units harder to sell/rent. If people were afraid to rent floor 11, they'd stop having it.

In buildings here with lots of Chinese buyers they sometimes skip floor 4.

Probably because "13" itself is well known as the unlucky number.
Chapter 11 is only bad in a certain context.
