First to live for 80 years but 50℅ happy 50℅ sad
second to live 20 years 100 ℅ happy
which option u will choose
The substance of life is in surviving and thriving through, and despite struggles. The best burger I ever had was in Vietnam after starving for over a week. The best drink I ever had was after sweating my ass off in Iraq for days on end, where the water was too hot during the day to drink, and too dusty during the nite, but ended with a cold sip from the Haditha dam. You can't just have one or the other, you must have both, and I truly believe that we're not here to be happy, we're here to learn something.
Nah I rather live longer and be useless lol
ok leonardo di caprio
How Dare you insulilting Leo
Both are important. I wouldn't want to die in 1 year, regardless of how good my life is and I wouldn't want to live 70 more years if they were crap.
so, I'd be fine atdying at 60 if my life was good till then.
We don't always have to be happy, that's like, what you call it? oh euphoria. Also that's what makes us human and gives us experience in life. Happy all the time would be boring
That’s a hard one but I could stand to have a better quality of life. If something altered my life so badly I’d rather die with dignity.
Quality duhhhhhh
Qualtiy

Quantity because look at the way you phrased the question 80 years. 50% happy 50% unhappy or 20 years unhappy.
Well choosing quantity you're still getting 40 years happy you're just enduring 40 years unhappy. when if you choose 100% happiness you're getting only 20 years. happiness.
And to quote the movie "The Matrix" Humanity defines itself by pain. You can understand true happiness unless you've had pain.
well, giving that 50% happiness is roughly 45% more than I am used to, I think it sounds like the deal of a lifetime! Not sure I could be happy all the time... seems unnatural.. and must take a hell of a lot of mental capacity! I´ll take the first. I never anticipated that I would live to be more than 50-60 tops anyway, so its a win. win. win!
I’m roughly half of 80 and double 20 and would say that my life has probably been around 75% happy and 25% sad. Sometimes it seems like the sad should be higher than that. I think it’s that the sad things tend to stick with us more. Causing us to over inflate that percentage.
I would try to negotiate a 40 year with 75% happy and 25% sad.
I do not think that one would be able to enjoy his happiness if he never knew anything else. Therefore I'd prefer my life to be 50% happy and 50% sad.
Normally I support quality over quantity but in this case, nah.
80 with 50/50 percent because that would still be an enormous improvement for me since currently its 0% happy 100% unhappy, plus I might die young. so having a long life and having good things happen to you every other day on average is a pretty sweet offer
quantity. if i get to live 40 years happy, that's still better than 20. dude, your argument is mathematically flawed.
This is bad math.
80 years of 50/50 is equal to 40 years happy.
vs 20 years happy.
Easy choice.
I would ask for a line of credit, go into debt like a normal human being... live happy for 40 years and commit Harakiri at 40.
The first option is what I would take plus the first option is closer to real life except people are living close to 100 now which is great
Quantity is a quality in itself, so I'll say quantity.
But obviously not if it's in pain or agony.
The first one gives you 20 happy years. The second gives you 40 happy years and enough sadness to truly appreciate those.
Without the bad you will never appreciate the good.
So 1st option.
If I was offered 5 good years and then certain death I would take it.
Would rather live happily for a month than 100 years without it
100% of 20 is 20. 50% of 80 is 40. Therefore, quantity is mathematically superior.
In your example, you'd get 40 yes of bad, but 40 yes of good, which is double the 20 years.
Ask the WEE wrestlers , they made this choice. Fame , wealth, and fun, dead by 60.
80 isn’t good enough. I would negotiate for immortality with happiness.
I’d rather live longer
