I'm ethnic Norwegian, but can also be categorized as ethnic Nordic and Scandinavian. I've been in Norway almost my entire life, speaks the language fluently and have a Norwegian family. I also believes in modern Norwegian values like affordable healthcare, education, taking care of the vulnerable in our society and gender equality. I also believes in democracy and a balance between secularcism and religious freedom.

To me skin color doesn't determine your ethnicity, but rather your language, culture, beliefs, family you've connection to and so on. Ethnicity isn't the same as "race" or phenotype. That's just outdated b*llshit.

I suppose you are asking about ancestral background (therefore it's not you who is greek, turkish etc). My ancestors come from Latvia, Russia and Germany as far as I know. May have been something ukranian and swiss somewhere far far in the past.

@R_Cakes91 if you have the opportunity, it's fantastic if you can ask any of the prior generations to do a teat as well - it'll help a lot to figure out the different family lines!
Parents, grandparents and any siblings they may have. Start with the most senior ones, and get at least a brief family history from them too, especially names, locations, and dates.
With the increased popularity of home tests, you have a good chance to tie in with living distant cousins in other places. Cool :-)

I’m a history major so I did a crap load of research on my ancestry. Most of my ancestors immigrated from France, Switzerland, and England. I traced them back to the mid 1600s. My grandmother is from Greece and all I have from her is oral histories.
