Not just overpopulation but also overproduction. The planet has finite resources and as a species we don't seem to have grasped the fact.
I think it's an extremely serious problem that if we don't address very soon will have dire consequences.

First of all, that’s patently false and you should be able to tell that just by looking at the major cities in India. Second overpopulation concerns aren’t about finding enough space to house the population. They’re about the resources that larger populations demand. Such as Oxygen, clean water, produce, meats, woods, natural gasses, metals, stone, minerals, oil. And dozens of other necessary resources to maintain our current way of life. As technology advances these demands become even more rigorous. And as the population grows more pollutants are spewed into our air and water as byproducts of supplying for the needs of an ever multiplying population. Every single one of those resources listed above requires space and time to produce and refine. And eventually human populations will reach a point where it’s no longer possible to provide some or all of those resources. When that day occurs either everyone dies, or a lot of people die and those that survive will have to struggle to rebuild from whatever’s left.
