in my country you have to pay "GEZ", which is basically a tax for the consumption of government run and/or subsidized radio and tv-shows as well as particular websites the internet. so i remember before the internet was around, you could legally refuse to pay if you had no tv or radio, which was hard, cause you would have to remove the car radio as well as you can't have an alarm clock without a radio.

these days you have to pay the fee even if you just have the ability to use the internet (like your phone). so i have to follow the stupid rule to pay the tax for "government media" even though i don't want to use those media -.-

all that just cause i technically "could" use their shit and they just don't put a password on their internet offerings for people that "want" to use them... so litterally they're charging me for it with the same reasoning that they could charge you for. as you also "could" go to their websites, you know cause they're just openly on the internet xD
