I am Turkish too, why you asking it to foreigners here don't you know yourself? :D Most of them will tell you stupid things like "Middle Eastern" and such since that's what they learned in their stupid schools.

Turkish People are Anatolians, part of us came from Central Asia as Turkic tribes and some of us were always here as Trojans, Lydians, Hitties and Phaselisians. We are part of both of them and yeah we are mixed people. Western side of Turkey is mostly white and inner&East sides of Turkey are mostly brown.

My DNA is 7% Anatolian-caucasian and 9% Steppe Turkic both of which came out of the region now know as Turkey. So even though I don't know much about Turkey I am apparently 16% Turkish!

Ottoman Empire was the US of its time, therefore Anatolia is a land of migrants now. Turkey is not a racially pure country. That's why you can not define Turkish citizens with a specific race.

Rumelian/Balkan Turkish Citizens = European
Turkmen Turkish Citizens = Turanid
Georgian/Laz/ Armenian = Caucasus
Kurdish / Persian = West Asia
Afro Turks in agean Turkey = African
