Okay so recently there’s been yet another viral video of an angry brown woman because a white person chose to not say excuse and act like someone is not there.
I know for one most white people just don’t say excuse me I don't know if their not being taught or something but I for one have started figuring when I see white people that their not actually going to say excuse me so I don’t say it either I just stand and stare at them as well till they move and it works. Is it a cultural thing I’m confused why white people just can’t say excuse me and always ending up on the news as well for invading our space and being pretty disrespectful honestly
Also I would not have reacted the same as the woman in the video but if it was my child you’re going over and pull thatish oh yeah I’m definitely saying something that’s like such a fucked up thing to do it’s really not hard to say excuse me especially when you’re literally going to go over someone especially someone else’s kid like have some respect.
If you do that amongst eachother that’s fine but most if not all brown people are taught to say excuse me and we do not like our personal space invaded and you should ever feel so entitled to literally invade someone’s space especially a stranger like that’s just rude.

Yeah, I mean, I've been taught to say "excuse me" when I'm trying to get past someone. My extended family all is like that too, and I can say that about my friends too. I had a friend who got joked about in school because he said excuse me too much and was overly polite. I think it'd be harder to find a person that just bumps their way past someone instead of saying "excuse me." Now sometimes, people are in the process of moving out of the way, so it becomes easier to just wait for a bit for there to be enough space, but public manners is not a racial issue. It's a family-specific issue at that point, and I'd go so far as to say the vast majority of people (all races included) have decent public manners.

I'd have to see the original incident to say more about who was wrong about the situation. Based on the video, I'd say both were in the wrong. The camera-woman was in the wrong for egging things on to make things worse than what they needed to be. The woman with her son was wrong for hitting the phone and arguably taking things too far in front of her kid.

Sometimes these incidents are caused by misunderstandings on both sides or different interpretations of the same incident. I think it's fair to say that most people don't like confrontation in public-- it's embarrassing to stand out. My guess is the white woman thought she could sneak by and get something off the shelf past the kid, but there was probably wasn't much room, so it invaded the "personal space" of the kid. By the sounds of it, there possibly wasn't touching (frankly though, who knows without seeing the footage), but rather, it was just too close for comfort. If you're the mother of the kid and you look over and see this stranger huddling over getting something off the shelf, it seems like a "wtf is she doing" moment. Thus, things escalate. Overreactions ensue.

Honestly I get a little upset in public and do give dirty looks but I’ve never had anything escalate. I don't know I just feel like it’s should just be common decency to at least look and smile or something to at least not seem like you’re completely ignoring another human beings presence.

Yes, we are taught to say excuse me. Just like everyone is taught to be polite, use turn signals when driving, not to litter, park in parking spaces and walk into the store, not to leave trash on shelves in department stores, put groceries back I'm not buying or turn them into the cashier, obey the speed limits, clean up after ourselves, say thank you, put clothes back on the hangers, use cross walks, wear reflective clothing at night, wash our hands, cover our mouths when yawning, wait in line, not to let anger take over emotions, be patient, and more.
