Boring is a relative term, for starters.

You could probably characterise me as quite "boring" when I'm at my day job, since it's not a particularly "chit-chatty" work culture; you punch in, get shit done, then punch out. Plus I usually have a mild undercurrent of social anxiety given the public-facing nature and fast pace of the job, combined with some of the other staff not giving me a lot to work with in terms of social connections.

You may also look at me in my room, right now, for instance. You'd see a guy in his 20s sat in bed with his laptop, in silence, typing away on some website called girlsaskguys. com, and think "it's Friday night why isn't he out partying?". So you might see that as boring-- but for me, I value and enjoy this relaxation and restoration time. Maybe I'll go out another night with friends-- maybe I'll go travel somewhere when I have the time off work for it. There'll always be other times to do fun, interesting stuff.

But life isn't like Instagram influencers make it look-- like a constant stream of amazing adventures. Truth is, most of our daily lives are either spent working, resting, or a myriad of "in-between stuff" like commuting, food shopping etc. How many hours in a week do we really get to pursue our passions and hobbies-- all the things that make us "not boring" to be around? How often do we get to let loose with family and friends?

But if you catch me at the right time, in the right place, with the right people, and I'll show you a good time :D the best times for me are spent joking around with a group of friends, doing some activity that inspires me, or having deep conversations with a close friend. Or anything to do with sex, or girls I wanna have sex with lol

Boring people usually have these things holding them back:

    - fear of taking risks. They have taken risks in the past and failed. This could be trying to be funny/entertaining in front of a person they liked and it backfired horribly. This also includes bullying... they try to fit in by not being a target.

    - fearful and/or overprotective parents. A boring person might of had parents that were always paranoid about keeping their kid safe or worse (in my case) not having their kids do anything that relflects bad on them. They will teach their kids to obey authority to the point of being an ass kiss. Their kids grow up never questioning older people and authoritative figures (teachers, professors, bosses, older next door neighbors, police, etc.).

While it’s true that older people usually know better, it’s not always. Some people are users, sociopaths, etc.

    - fear of success: there is a time a boring person might have taken a risk and it worked. They did will in a crazy sport, they made a joke everybody laughed at, they spoke their mind in a heated situation, etc. That attention and kudos feels weird. They feel like they won’t be able to maintain status quo.

Anyway on the flip side I know lots of entertaining people in their 40s, even 50s who “never grew up”. These people are still getting in trouble with the law, financially dependent (usually scandalously), irresponsible parents, etc.
those people might not be “boring” but overall most people respect them a lot less than a normal “boring” person.

My mom is the definition of boring. She lives only to try and control people, mainly her family. She has no friends, she only uses people. Her motives and intentions are for her happiness only, thinking everyone is dumb and stupid and don't know how to live their lives and she must have power over everyone to tell them how to live their lives. She has only mean, judgmental and unkind thibgs to say about everyone. She always seems like she is in a rush to go do something, usually that something is her playing solitaire on her ipad.

I only get bored if we have diff goals/interests and if they suck at communicating. Other than that, i dont really find people boring. Im probably considered boring because im a homebody who likes to work from home, watch tv shows, organize my photo albums, and not hangout with my friends. But i dont consider myself boring because those things entertain me

Boring just means that your subconscious is pushing you away from them because they don’t fit into familiar patterns that you’re used to. If you have psychological issues then you will perceive more normal people OR people with unfamiliar issues as boring. People who have issues that compliment your own will draw you in.

Your subconscious knows WAY more than you do about whatever your issues are.

A boring person is someone that has different interest than you do. Take chess for example. Person A can spend hours playing chess, examining previous games, and going over different theories and trying them out. Person B is very similar and will find person A to be a fun and interesting person to be around. Person C is someone that can't stand chess and would rather play a board game that doesn't take much thought. Something that they could play while winding down their mind. So, person C will find Person A and Person B boring. Conversely, Person A and person B could just as easily find person C boring since they don't challenge their mind. Person D on the other hand could find person A-C all fun and interesting since they enjoy doing both and Person E finds Persons A-D to be all boring. So, if you find a person boring chances are it's just because they have different interest than you do.

    People who talk too much
    - annoy me and bore me. More so annoy, suppose.

Boring people are those that talk about work or don't have anything exciting in their life happening so end up moaning about others.

I don't know, people just annoy me in general lol.

They’re only able to participate or initiate small talk but can’t really talk deeply about anything important.

They aren’t doing anything with their lives other than working to get by. They aren’t working towards anything or growing.

They don’t have any hobbies, personal interests or skills.

Lol, you're dumb, people are too crazy to grasp concepts. I have bigger dreams than the people whom consistently flail about getting drunk and socialise, part of someone's problem is pressure from others to do too much for someone else!

I would recommend not to have put "Lol" at the end of "Ok", it makes very bad grammar for others people whom read. (Can be interpreted into many ways). Taking that "lol" and having read it coming from years of psychological abuse/damage. Seems like it were taken as laughing at another's expense from poor treatment!
However you meant it. Stick with "Ok"! It is better!

Boring is a subjective term. Who determines what is boring vs exciting? If we leave it to pop culture and Hollywood, exciting would be getting plastered and spending $1000's of dollars on attire and never ending parties while people who just want to live there life, have a family, work hard, be self reliant, and be left alone are somehow boring.

They're usually always in solitude. They have no vest for life. They're usually uninterested or disconnected from the rest of the world. They are too lazy and immature to invest any effort in forming relationships or devoting time to things that actually matter. Basically just describing here a typical gen-z.

I think this is just ignorance on your part to be honest, because not everybody is going to be smart enough to have ideas like that.
I do however understand what you mean when you say people only ever go on about very trivial things and never anything going real, like what's going on in the world. But you can't just have a go at somebody's personality just because they maybe don't have the intellect to go on about stuff like that, surely? 🤔😕

I'm from London, so a city-dweller like me probably views rural Texans with a more romantic lens-- working off the land, dirt under their nails from hard day's work, taking their kids to hunt and fish... or whatever it is they do to unwind out there. Maybe the reality is different and they're all dull as dishwater, but perspectives may yet vary... :)

They are rigid. Rules are rules and they won't fluctuate, ever. They have no concept of humor. They follow the status quo. They are passionate about boring things. They rarely break their routine.

I believe boring people are often serious, not friendly or sociable. They lack sense of humor and just don't seem interested in doing anything fun or have basic routines, day in and day out. They are basic bitches to some it up

People who are arrogant, talk a lot of shit and are the loudest voice in the room. People like this are normally so fake and corny because they're empty inside.

Complete lack of imagination and wit. They just sit around like a knot and expect others to entertain them.

Try thinking how someone can take so much from someone, that they eventually "Shut" themselves away! Please think carefully before calling someone lazy for no reason, more than likely worked harder and done more than you could think of, it is harder working with your subconsciousness being bled dry from 'unfamiliar' or nauseating experiences!

      True.

But all I'm saying is laziness can be one of the traits.

It's what I've personally encountered that's why I enlisted it.

Don't lump us introverts in with detached and lazy people-- not even close to the same ballpark!

I worked 12-14 hours. This were volunteering work, then ran 12 miles, and worked out!
Because of psychotic people I became recluse. Had so much going for me, in the end the only thing I learned were "No one cared".
No matter what work you do, or how you treat a person. Everyone has their own 'boundaries'
6.5kg in weight, and struggle to comprehend the idea of "Trying". People are un-caring, un-grateful, and with family there is only so much someone can really do!

Whoa whoa I didn't mean to offend you or anyone.

It was just my opinion because the introverts I've seen are like that.
It's just my personal experience, doesn't mean it's what really happening all over the world.

No offense taken, it's just a common complaint introverts get about not being "fun enough" by extrovert standards. We're more interesting in 1 on 1 conversation than large groups for example

No problem, no offence going to be taken! just take caution when trying to sum a particular set of groups of people up in how their/the person lives work!
      Mum were born introvert too!

Haha i dont usually initiate conversations but when i do, its usually something related to what they said or posted (if its online). Then it becomes a natural conversation. Small talk doesn't work well for me. But im not saying all girls are like me so dont worry
