Whats the reason for nudging someone near you when someone walks by?

I can name different instances when people have done this and usually it's negative. It's usually to point out something about someone to laugh or when someone thinks they're better than you because of their race or jealousy or for whatever reason.

What are reasons you would do it though or that you've known others to do so? Especially in a situation where there's guys and a girl walks by.

I don't think I've ever purposely just nudged anyone in passing. It's pretty rude. A couple times I've given a flirty little hip nudge followed by a wink, but it was clearly flirtatious and we already knew each other quite well.

I've had it happen to me but it's more of a "knocked into" than a judge. And they were definitely just being assholes about it.

No, not nudge a random person. Nudge someone you're with to get their attention (without others noticing) and stare at someone walking by

Any time I've ever nudged anyone I knew or been nudged it was some kinda attraction or clearly part of the conversation.
