When can I take a hot shower after getting a tattoo?

I got a tattoo done 10 days ago. It’s not scabbing and a bit itchy but it’s not too bad. Is it the right time to start having hot showers?

You could’ve had a shower the day after getting the tattoo. You do need to clean it, so I think going ten days without a shower wasn’t the best decision (unless it’s massive and spans across your back). Just don’t use any harsh soaps directly onto it, and rinse it with cold water at the end.

Tattoos should be kept covered for minimum 3 hours after finished. Then washed with gentle unscented soap, dried thoroughly. Wash and dry twice a day for 2 days without healing balm then for 2 weeks using healing balm after drying.

You can shower as normal just don't have baths, go swimming, getting in a hot tub etc.

man i feel like the tattoo shop you went to must be crappy when they don't even tell you that.

i'd say wash it gently under running water. no scrubbing or soap for another 10 days if you wanna be sure.

Usualy the tattoo artist informs you about it. But after about 48hours it should be fine.
Just be gentle with the skin.
