How often should I shower?

My parents for years complain I waste so much water and use very little soap. I do admit I shouldn't be using so much, but applying too much soap isn't good. I'll probably seek a dermatologist for advice but until then, what do you guys think?

I'm East Asian, so I don't stink except sometimes from my armpits. My towel does get dirty and smelly even if I do clean it once every few days.

Well my hair would also stink but I can use shampoo for that. My crotch area will obviously stink and maybe my feet but that's it.

I used to always use hot water even during the summer (except during very hot days) and that has caused my skin to be dry and itchy almost all year round since 2017
