Depends on what you mean by a big dent. What I would call a big dent, no it should not do that. Even if the corner of the small car hit the bumper of the truck I don't think it would do much. Maybe scratch the paint and probably not even that.
Also, it makes no difference that it's a big truck.

Yes it can cause the bumper is designed to absorb the impact and they are plastic. Sorry for the bad news. Check your mirrors next time ;)

No, it is NOT likely that a small car going 5 mph backing up could make a big dent in the front bumper of a big truck.
