Pretty much every serial killer has attracted fan girls, new wives to marry in prison, exclusive interview, book contracts, so on and so forth. I mean, when you look at it that way, how much of it is cause, and how much is effect?
When I was younger I thought the same thing, immature as I was, after Columbine, that giving these jacked up kids so much attention would only encourage more people who would have likely just stayed on the outskirts or killed themselves to engage in a killing spree.
You have a person that in an instant transforms from helpless loser on the fringe to anti-hero, martyr, a person with attention, fame, influence, and likely wealth from doing horrible things to people for self-gratification. They achieve a victim status greater than their actual victims as people try to "understand" and keep up the attention cycle on them until someone more jacked up takes the spotlight.
There would still be serial killers and killing sprees without the media coverage, but I bet dollars to dimes it would drop at least tenfold in frequency without the intense attention (especially sympathy, blame the guns, bullying, not the culprit) they get in the media.
Bahahaha I just got blocked by a girl just now because I told her about how serial killers and rapists have huge female fan followings. She said I was stupid to say such a thing and blocked me lmao.
It's not a question of WHY. Its COMMON. Nearly every serial killer has a female fan following. And they are zealots. I have seen youtubers talk about videos they made about x y or z serial killer, and then they got angry letters and death threats from the female fans of those serial killers.
It's nothing new really. The worse the offenses the more loved he is by the ladies. bizarre huh?
I just hope the rest of the 99% of girls are just as confused as us guys are as to why these women love such horrible people.

Honestly I find it disgusting to see how easily people excuse Richard just cause he was hot or how many edits and fan fictions of him exist.
My quess is that the reason why their crushing on him (other than his looks) is cause they want to seem 'quirky' and 'different' and like they have 'daddy issues'

As a woman i can say he is absolutely fucking good looking. This facial bone structure would have gave him a modelling career. If he didn't follow that path. Also women like social status and attaching themselves to people who have fame or so
Serial killers tend to be seductive and charming and the innocent naive fall victim to these types. Leaving the innocent victim prey to their hypnotic effect. These men tend to be cult leaders without trying. Being lured into the lions den. There could be many reasons... tendency to get involved with narcissists, backgrounds, history of abusive relationships, their bizarre belief around "love". Could be for the thrill & excitement. Always thinking they can change a man. Extremities comes in all forms and these extremities can get you killed.
Some people are fantasied with killers on varying degree's. Including myself. But it varies a lot to person, to person. Darkness has it's own attractions to some and some can be too far than just like watching murder documents but eh who is to judge there attraction longs if don't actively go to hurt anyone. I don't know about you tho most killers are ugly and this one example. There are some that are hot but that's kinda on rare end from all true crime stuff i've watched. Also people can fantasize about something without actually truly thinking that.
A lot of serial killers or the like, who's in jail have a fangirl following. Have no idea why some could be fucked up enough to be into someone like that...
A part of it might be because it's safe to fangirl over someone who's in prison, though... I seriously don't understand anything.
Many men and women are attracted to “dangerous” men and women.
Not because their dangerous but because primal instinct says they are capable of protecting them and their family. It’s just a survival technique. One of the most basic. Some people are more influenced by it then others.
He attracted a lot of women because in some pics he looked quite handsome. During his trial, many of the women who wrote overtly sexual letters to him while he was in prison, attended his trial and made it difficult enough so the judge cleared the court.
because some girls are stupid and only cares about someone's looks , and he was a good looking guy so yeah BUT mainly because the fan girls were stupid and had fancy dream which was not realistic , that's why lots of them got raped.
because the phsychological traits of a very successfull man are those that attract women. it's those traits that are a double edged sword it increases likelyhood to be successfull in both good and bad ways. people like elon musk and pablo escobar are psychologically very close to each other.

He was the ultimate Bad Boy. He was infamous, scary, cool looking in a creepy way. He was satanic and evil and well known and everyone was looking for him and scared. He's a brutal murderer and some women are drawn to men that are out of control and dangerous. It was really sick.
I think some people are attracted to criminals (bad a##) and ones of a sexual nature as they would be a taboo treat. I'm not saying I agree with it or that any person should but I think that might be the reasoning
It always happens with serial killers. Ted Bundy also got a lot of love letters after he was caught. It's the ultimate "bad boy" thing I guess.

They are creaming about imagination to sleep with such guy, but they would reject him if they faced him in real. This is the same mechanic when lot of girls dreamed about sex with Trump, while Trump isn't really attractive as man. (at least for me as guy)
Because mentally ill girls on Tumblr who read too many romance novels believe they can "change him." That and he is physically good looking even though he has done sick things.

That the way people are made and raised to be now can't you tell. Jail is full of people with victimless crimes like frud or possession of drugs while sex offenders and women betters are slowed to pray the streets that's what people are allowing now.
