How would you feel if you found out that soneome you had rejected, committed suicide?

I had one ex girlfriend threaten this when I broke up with her (face to face) a few years ago. I broke up with her as tactfully and respectfully as I could. She screamed, yelled and cried for two hours. It got so bad her family had to call the police to have her taken in for pysch evaluation.

Anyway I have no regrets about how I handled the situation. I gave her more closure and respect than ANY girl gave me when breaking up. I had one girl ghost me after 9 months after dating. I had another cheat on me and then try to gaslight me afterwards. I had more than one girl try to confidently friéndzone me when it was obvious I wanted to date (deeper insult than the vast majority of women recognize).

But the answer is yes I have thought seriously about checking out a few times. My faith in God and love for my family has kept me stable. But deep down I’m a wreck.

There is one girl in particular that really did a number on me a few years ago. I just wanted 20 mins of face to face closure but I know I’m not going to get it.

Okay this might sound really callous and mean but, I wouldn't feel guilty at all. I'd be upset someone I knew, even in passing, had killed themself, and I would feel bad that thwir family and friends had lost someone they loved, but that's not my fault. It's not my responsibility to do things I don't want (like date someone) to keep them from hurting themself. Someone else's emotion response to a very normal interaction is not on me. The fact that they never learned how to manage their emotions, or that they made me the center of their happiness/will to live is sad and awful, but that's not my fault. We've all been rejected, it's part of life.

I'd feel really bad about it. I'm not sure if I would feel disgusted but that's the type of blood I don't want on my hands. I would be living with regret for the rest of my life. Not a nice feeling

I don't think anyone should feel bad about it. Because we can't force ourselves to like somone

it depends on how you rejected them. no one deserves to be rejected meanly and made to feel not good enough. you never know what people are already going through.

That's called emotion blackmail so no i wouldn't. Someone cannot just threaten to or do so, when you don't want to date them. It's them playing a emotional game to manipulate to be with them or at least think about them then drown your self in despair. While they hope you suffer.

Basically = that person to be really evil.

Absolutely awful, I'd imagine. Walking the fine line between "rejecting someone so gently that they don't take it seriously" and "rejecting someone so strongly that their feelings are seriously hurt" is a problem I'm glad I don't have to deal with.

This would never happen to me so I don't know. However I was in the opposite situation, the last time I tried to kill myself was right after a really harsh rejection.

I find it hard to believe a person would kill themself entirely because one person rejected them.

I think they probably would of had more problems in their life

That is on them, not me. I would feel bad, but not guilty.
