Would you feel worse about losing your child to suicide if their last words you heard from that were "I hate you"?

Those were the last words my daughter said to me before she attempted suicide but how much worse I would have felt if her attempt was successful has haunted me so much.

I'm sorry you went through all of that. I don't have children and having suicidal thoughts is no joke. It is just demonic. The question why do they hate you? I can tell you love your child and maybe you had ups and downs in your relationship with them. But when a child says something like that, there is something wrong. I don't expect you to tell me or anybody what happened. But something doesn't sound right with her, and the only thing that she can benefit from is counseling and intensive care. That situation has to be given to God. I think it is clear it isn't much you can do for her but to pray and leave that in God's hands. Not be around each other. I find it hurtful and sad in general. Ask God for forgiveness if you did anything, and go in peace. Whatever is ailing her, she has to want to get through this heal and overcome.

This was a while ago and she has since recovered. She was hospitalized and when I visited her she said she didn't mean what she said and she loved me more than anything.

But that's the thing; she lived to retract what she said.

What other choice did she have? She was suffering but that didn't mean she had to hurt you. I know what that is like I said that to my late mom before she died. I have to live with knowing what I said. That doesn't go away. You have to show and tell her you to love her more than anything. Whatever happened that made her feel that way, she needs healing. Those are internal wounds that only God and Jesus can heal. She really does love them, but she doesn't really know how to express them. I hope and pray you two are able to start over.

Was that the last thing you told your mom?

I was around 6-7 years old at the time. Still hurts me after she died. There was a lot of abuse at home, so I didn't know who was lying or telling the truth. In the end, I loved both my parents, but I hated what they did to me. And to each other. The last thing I told my mom was nothing. Because she died in the middle of the night while I was about to go back to sleep and then she died. She couldn't speak because cancer spread and wrapped itself around her throat like a rope. So she couldn't get oxygen, talk right, or even eat right. cancer spread to her lungs and her stomach. She was terminal. The only think I have left is her text messages. That's it. I don't even remember much of her voice.

I still get nightmares about it. And how she died. And how she lived. Part of me struggles with missing her and being glad she isn't suffering anymore. It's messed up.

I was turning 24 at the time. So you can imagine what birthdays and holidays are like.

But referring to my daughter what do you mean what choice did she have? If you're saying she said I love you just so I would let her out of the mental hospital, I didn't send her there. The night she attempted suicide she tried to get up the stairs to get to my room but couldn't because she was too weak so she crawled into my sons room, woke him up and asked him to drive her to the hospital. It wasn't after he got there that he called me and told me what happened.

What I am saying is if she died with all of that hurt, she wouldn't be able to make it to heaven with that. God gave you two a second chance. Life is too short. All of that isn't worth going to hell for.

She had to make amends or else that would have been it. You never want to die with all of that.

Thank God she survived! And yes that would be devastating to hear I think especially when it's said to a parent. I'm not a parent but I still think that would be devastating too hear 😔 I'm glad your daughter is doing better? I hope 🙏

Yeah she's doing better now. Although the night she tried to overdoes she tried to crawl into my room but was too weak to go up the stairs. So she climbed into my son's room and he drove her to the hospital and on the way she said "if I don't make it, tell mom I didn't mean what I said and I love her".

That's so sad, honestly brings a tear too my eyes. I'm really glad she's doing well ☺ At least you know she loves you.
