What is the one interest/hobby/job you could talk about for hours?

Let me hear it! I love learning about people, learning new things, and hearing about their passions. I just had a friend talk to me about city planning and design for two hours and I still have more questions. I love listening to my friends just go off about what they love doing, and all the fine nuances and details that most people don't know, so I want to invite you all to do that!

What's the one hobby, interest, area of expertise or job that you love above all else, and what about it do you love best? What have you always wanted to say/talk about? Share it here! I want to know!

That's a tricky one. I'm quite the chatterbox but typically I tend to talk for hours about subjects the other person happens to be interested in. I'm kind of all over the place and have the most varied interests that I geek out about so I can usually find one with a person that we have roughly in common and talk about that.

I am a software developer by trade (formerly game developer, now working in computer graphics) and also taught computer science in university, so I can speak for hours about things like data structures and algorithms and computer architecture and so forth. Yet it's an extremely dry subject for people who aren't working in the same field and so I tend to refrain from talking about it with most people even though I am used to lecturing for hours to students and colleagues about it.

Some of the topics that interest me include art, history, philosophy, music (including theory), fitness, nutrition, various sports, films (I'm quite a film buff, and also worked in the film industry so filmmaking also interests me), game design (since I was a former developer, although I'm not much of a gamer), cooking, poker, and traveling.

I have many hobbies and interests, but I could say that I can talk abou it for hours only for 2 of 'em, Anime and Gaming!
Though I am no longer a "nolifer" and no longer watch nearly as much anime (actually rn I only watch new episodes of Tokyo Revengers and One Piece as they come out), and I am rarely playing games like, at all, nowadays, I used to do both much more so I still have a lot to say about those :D. by the way, I am planning to watch Monster, MHA, HxH and I am waiting for AoT, Dr Stone, The Promised Neverland and Jujutsu Kaisen to continue! When it comes to games, I am waiting for Hytale to come out :D

I love the paranormal! i enjoy urban legends, discussing myths, superstitions, parapsychology, monsters, etc.

i find it so intriguing, exciting, i love the mystery and how interesting it is to discover and continue to learn more about the unknown. I could speak about that mythical, spooky, ghost stuff for hours :)

football and star wars !! I love football and I love to talk about it and if I'm not too careful I could talk someones head off about the steelers, or how the pac 12 is going to be responsible for me grow gray hair early to go up because no game is a sure game in that conference ( ex. Washington vs Montana and UCLA vs LSU ). but not too many people would really understand lol.

and for star wars I could talk for days about it but I don't have any friends that have watched any trilogy to be honest, which sucks cause I have a lot of memes I would want to send and a bunch of jokes I've said to them but none of them catch the reference 😭 cold world. but there has been a few times where it star wars randomly was brought up in convos ( like when a new movie comes out or something) and I'll talk their heads of about the whole history of star wars. ( including the old republic even though it's not canon anymore :)).

Even got me through my speaking and listening English exam
Everyone else had a full day to prepare 2 sheets of A4, I ended up with about 3 hours probably half I really utilized and had 5 sheets by the end
The exanlm itself should have been 9 minutes of speaking and 6 minutes of questions... mine was 34 minutes of speaking and 9 minutes of questions
I was the only one in the class to get an A* and that pulled my otherwise D grade upto a C, which was an overall pass

I really like to think about media and stories people tell, what makes them good or bad. I've recently spent a lot of time talking to some of my friends about the show Buffy The Vampire Slayer and discussing why we liked some seasons but didn't care for others. What makes this stuff interesting is that there are objective flaws in stories, yet for a number of different reasons, we can overlook them, and still we might get hung up on things that aren't really objective flaws. When discussing a show like Buffy it's also interesting to see how people may find some beloved characters annoying and other, almost, universally hated characters interesting and likable.
