6 of the eight planets (though Pluto is a planet in my heart!) you can see with the naked eye (Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, and of course the earth). But I am a member of the Eight Planet Club! That is I have seen all eight planets either with a telescope or naked eye. I have never seen Pluto except in books or on the internet.

If you know where to look, you can see all the planets with a telescope and most with the naked eye. Right after sunset tonight, three planets, Venus, Jupiter, and Saturn or visible with just the naked eye.

I'm told people with *REALLY* good eyesight in *REALLY * dark skies can see Uranus with the naked eye, but I've only seen it in a telescope. I've seen Neptune in a telescope, but even then it was very faint.

You can see a lot of Messier objects (galaxies, clusters, and nebulae) with just binoculars.
