1.5K opinions shared on Other topic. Everyone does dream in their sleep, even if you don't remember them.
The dreams occur in the REM phase of the sleep (rapid eye movement), also called deep sleep. The brain paralyzes the muscles so one does not act out the dreams. During sleep, a person usually progresses through the 3 stages of non-REM sleep before entering REM sleep. This takes about 1 to 2 hours after falling asleep.
Dreams do not have any deep symbolic meanings but are the result of what a person has experienced during the day, what has marked this person or his/her worries and other noticeable events from the past day or weeks.18 Reply- +1 y
It may be a fact that everyone dreams whether they remember it or not... but what about you personally? Do you tend to remember them or are you falling asleep one moment, waking up the next?
- +1 y
It's interesting that you don't attribute any deeper meaning to dreams. If they involve worries and noticeable events, would that not imply some sort of deeper meaning? Perhaps not in an Edgar Cayce dream interpreting kind of way, but a sense of what has impacted you and possibly should take a closer look at in your life.

Basically, when I go to bed, I make the void in my mind and keep my jaw totally relaxed. Usually, I fall asleep within 10 minutes because I have the ability to forget everything that would disturb me.
Because I have a deep sleep, I tend to forget my dreams and seldom remember them. I do fall asleep one moment and wake up the next. That is the beauty of it.
However, I am aware that a number of people cannot stop thinking once they go to bed and take their worries with them. Those worries impact their sleep and their dreams.
I don't pretend that dreams don't have a deeper meaning just like I don't believe that stars and constellations impact on the character of a person. - +1 y
Interesting. Have you always been able to forget all your worries so easily, or is it something you have had to work at? I have always enjoyed the parable of the worry tree.
- +1 y
No, I had to learn to forget the things that would disturb me during the day. But there are only benefits of being able to fall asleep without taking the worries and problems and carrying them over to the next day.
But falling asleep quickly is only a matter of being totally relaxed and that has to be learned as well. - +1 y
There are definitely only benefits! How did you learn? How long did it take you to figure it out?

Love it!

Anonymous(36-45)+1 yYes, I can pretty much always remember my dreams, at least when just waking up, but if they are not special I also quickly forget again. Not long ago I dreamed I found lice in my hair.. had a very itchy scalp when waking up and again now and then the rest of the day too :P
Was very into dreams for a longer period after watching Inception xD. I also explored lucid dreaming, was cool, but also a bit distracting/took up a lot of my time :D
Most of my dreams are just everyday stuff popping up, the cleansing of the memory part.. but some are pretty wacky too.
I do believe dreams also sometimes acces the subconscious mind and can tell something about how you really are and feel about your life. Can be things you are repressing, and maybe good to explore more. Though I did not do that myself.11 Reply- +1 y
Lice 😬 those things are a nuisance... I'd wake up with an itchy head, too! Come to think of it, I often feel lingering physical sensations after waking up from a dream. Especially the more vivid ones. The mind is an interesting piece of hardware.
Inception... now there is a mind-fuck of a movie. Right up there with Fight Club and The Truman Show. Can definitely see how that would pique your interest in dreams.

+1 yI dream often. Sometimes I can remember bits and pieces when I wake up. Other times, nothing.
It is often dreaming of nonsense or something that happened that sticks out in memory. Really random for me.13 Reply- +1 y
The nonsensical bits tend to linger for me as well. Have you had any recurring dreams?

@WhyAmEyeEvenHere86
I can't say that I have had reoccurring dreams that I can think of. I may have but ones that I don't remember. - +1 y
I used to have a reoccurring dream of following a group of people over a broken bridge into some woods. Once across the bridge, the people were gone and the woods were much older. I would come across a cottage where a woman was waiting for me. It felt like we made this rendezvous frequently but it was different this time. She was some sort of royalty and I was some sort of outcast. The King had her followed this time and his men were waiting for me. There is a fight and they end up setting the cottage on fire. This dream happened once or twice a year as a teenager.
+1 yLast two nights I was woken from two horrible nightmares. Still remember details as if movies. Must be connected to something I’ve recently watched or read.

Nightmares! Yikes!
- +1 y
Yeah, can’t even recall the last time I had one. Maybe a year ago. Strange.
- +1 y
Can't really say I have nightmares... disturbing dreams, yes. Last night I dreamed about smoking a fat blunt and about halfway through it realized that I have a drug screening coming up for a job I am trying to get. Someone passed it to me and I just hit it without thinking... haven't even smoked in about 6 months!
Sorry you are having nightmares, friend! Hope whatever is going on resolves soon and you can get more restful sleep! - +1 y
Probably your mind keeping you straight for the interview. Smart really.
Thank you, you’re sweet. Hope you get that job! - +1 y
Thank you.

+1 yI dream in all colours but blue and green and brown and pink and white appear more than other colours in my dream
19 Reply- +1 y
Interesting... those are some awfully specific colors! Do you think it means something?
Someone once told me that normal dreams are black & white while full color dreams are an astral projection. - +1 y
I view dreams as coded messages from God in symbolic form which is great cause I love to get advice from them. I keep a dream diary to decode my dreams. My current career was inspired by a dream I had where I believe God was telling me to write books for a living.
- +1 y
Fascinating! Messages from God! Our creator speaks to us in many ways.
What kind of advice do you receive? - +1 y
I get a lot of messages, in one dream I was told that if I trusted in God, he would take the ugly things in my life and he would make them beautiful.
- +1 y
How did that work out?
- +1 y
Well I decided to turn the bad things I’ve seen and witnessed into a book so that has helped and even though my parents were mean to me I might inherit their money in a few years since they both have health issues.
- +1 y
I'd like to read it.
- +1 y
Well it’s not done yet but maybe when it is I will let you know

Awesome 🙂
+1 yOh I dream. Almost every night. And my dreams are incredibly weird or horrific.

I had a dream a few nights ago that my boyfriend turned into his self as a baby everytime he fell asleep. So he fell asleep and turned into a baby and began making cute faces at everyone. They kept going "awww". Then I stood there just bragging about how cute he gets when he falls asleep and turns into a baby. Like wtf.
- +1 y
That is an interesting one! Some variation of the Benjamin Button disease, perhaps? Hahaha
- +1 y
Haha something like that. It was weird to say the least.
- +1 y
What's most interesting about it is that in a way, we all turn into the baby versions of ourselves when we sleep. There is a vulnerability and an innocence which is completely lost in our waking adult lives.
- +1 y
Indeed. It's our conscious mind disappearing so that only our subconscious remains. It's odd.
- +1 y
What else you got? I had one a couple nights ago where something collided with the sun and it was like smacking a gob of mercury. Lots of tiny sus droplets scattered across the solar system... I saw it all from far away, as if I was in a spaceship removed from it all. One of the pieces hit Earth and really messed it up... it broke into several pieces as well and Earth became a system of ocean worlds. There were enough pieces of sun nearby to keep Earth warm and hospitable. It was frickin insane.
- +1 y
That is insane but sounds super cool at the same time though. That's honestly the last one I remember that wasn't horrific. I have so many dreams that they kind of just get forgotten.
- +1 y
Fair enough

I can teach you lucid dreaming in 5 minutes.

I'm sorry to hear that.

Good, I am glad. Hopefully that works out for you, my dude! Can't beat a good connection.

Very nice! Can you explain for those of us who do not know what lucid dreaming is and how to do it?
