We all have our thresholds in our mind of what's a minimum to be considered this or that. Like objectively being 5'11 is taller than average. But to most people you're not considered tall until you're at least 6 ft

I'm 6'1 and I don't consider myself to all. To met the minimum to be considered tall is 6'3. That's the threshold in my mind but it's just 2 inches. But it FEELS like more than it is.

It pretty much comes down to the emotional experience you have with that number. It's not that it sounds shorter to you, it's that it feels like it's so much horter even though it's only two inches.

But if you meet a guy who is 5-11, in shape, that you're attracted to. You're going to feel as if he's taller than that. Because of your emotional experience with him

It's because 5 looks so much smaller than 6. It's the same reason why all the stuff in stores cost like $2.99 or $9.99. It doesn't look like it costs as much money, compared to if it were $3 or $10. Also some girls created this whole stereotypical thing where they say they only date guys at least 6 feet tall.

I know. Even 5'11 1/2" sounds much shorter. It is a mental thing. It is like being a millionaire. If you have $999,999.99 you are still not a millionaire.
