I've broken two Japanese office chairs with the adjustable height thing. I made it so it sank to the bottom and they stop rising up. But I am not fat! Yes but not by sitting on it, I was cleaning around the area and the chair had wooden thick legs, somehow dropped the chair upside down and broke the leg. This was at work so I hid the chair in the staff room and for two months people wondered what happened with it (Was in hospitality at the time) Fun times.
On at least two occasions that I can remember, I sat on a chair and one of the legs broke. I'm not fat and overweight... investigation showed that teh wooden leg was already cracked.
There was a time when I was very overweight and I broke my grandma's antique chair which was also faulty. My husband & I also broke a chair together while having sex on it. I wasn't overweight anymore that time.
